I first got a Rubik's cube when they came out in the early 80's and absolutely loved it. I used the first one so much that I had to buy a replacement within a couple of years. The action for these cubes was fantastic. 'Clicky' 'tight' but so easy and smooth to turn. Even though I could eventually solve the puzzle in a couple of minutes, I've never tired of it.
I was really pleased when they started to produce the cube again and was keen to buy a new one. I bought a new cube and was dismayed to find that the action and build quality was terrible. I actually dug out my remaining original cube to try and see what the difference could be and saw that the original design had little areas where the inner surfaces had open pockets or gaps. ... Just simply a great practical item. Does what it says on the box!
Make up your puzzle on the felt mat, then when you want a break, simply pull open the telescopic tube, roll the puzzle and mat around it, and secure with the elastic bands provided.
This fell apart within hours of use. Put it back together again a number of times, but its weak plastic mechanisms cracked, rendering it useless. I have rubix cubes that I won at funfairs years ago that still work perfectly fine. Not good enough.
This is a brilliant idea. Sitting down making your puzzle, all of a sudden, dinner's ready, need to clear the table and put your jigsaw away from the kids reach. Zip it up, tip it up on its side and down the back of the couch with it - all in under a minute. A fantastic product and only sorry it wasn't available growing up when it would have been my Mother looking for her table back and not my wife!!! Only limitation is its size, you get addicted to jigsaws and want to go bigger, now you need a bigger puzzle board!! Well done to the person who invented this - I hope you make a fortune!
Taboo is basically talking Pictionary. You split into teams, and in each round one member of the team has to describe as many words as possible to his team mates within the time period. But there are some words that are taboo - that you can't say, and these are of course the words that you really want to say. A member of the opposition checks over your shoulder to make sure you don't slip up.
What this leads to is a fast-moving and at times hilarious game for all the family. It is a game in which age and other things that make a real difference in some more traditional games (like Trivial Pursuit) count for nothing, as what really matters is quick thinking, using words to get round the houses to things.

I started on the "childs themed" 6 inch diametre 240pc globe, with animals on as I wasnt too sure about the whole puzzle globe concept, (being a traditional jigsaw fan)
first upon opening it up, I thought "ooh, thats different" as due to the fact of it being a 3 dimentional puzzle, it had 2 round bits (north and south pole) and 2, 4cm x 15cm lengths (approx)to act as picture references
how to use them was sussed out very quickly.
I found that the pieces were nicely finished off, shiny, smooth and tactile, they made a positive tight fit which made the puzzle sturdy (as it gets lifted up and handled alot whilst making) they were also numbered on the back and I first thought "oh, thats a cheat" (but soon really needed the numbers when I could ...
