When I was going to bed after midnight Thursday, a mouse ran across the floor in front of me. Straight back to computer, booted up, and ordered some snap traps from somewhere. Then I started reading about how sometimes they don't always kill outright and the results can be messy. So, after further investigation I ended up at Amazon and ordered this rat zapper by express delivery. On Friday morning when I had a good look around, the mouse had gnawed through into a container of multi-grain flour. I left the flour in situ but made sure everything else was properly sealed. I ignored all the reviews that said this device was rubbish listening only to Mr Blobby. This has wasted me £15 and has led to a greater mouse problem with one even in my bed last night. Aaaaargh absolute nightmare and i am trying hard to respect life and resolve the problem in a humane manner, this is definitely not the way to do it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

We live in rural Devon and we'd been plagued by wood mice for 15 years - in all parts of our house, doing £100s of damage. Since we installed this device over a year ago, they've left us alone. Still rife in the garden & outbuildings, and in neighbours' houses, but our house is currently wood mouse free...

So I'd say, give it a try. Maybe its effectiveness varies from species to species. Could be the people it's not working for are dealing with house mice (grey/black urban animals) rather than wood mice (brown rural counterparts).

The Big Cheese - Squirrel Cage Trap

I had a problem with squirrels in my roofspace - they were living under a converted loft floor. Having read the reviews I bought one of these traps and set it outdoors using a Snickers bar as the bait. Half an hour later I caught my first squirrel. They obviously like Snickers as it had eaten the lot. There's no point buying a more expensive version of this product - it works really well.

It's well designed too, with a protective plate to stop the squirrel from nipping your fingers when you pick up the cage to transport it. I was able to release the squirrels unharmed in a nearby wood.

Creepy Crawly Catcher

It doesn't look as naff as it does on these above pictures. But it is straight out of the 60's. It is pretty robust but requires a comical amount of batteries for the limited power it produces. Small spiders just don't weigh enough to be catchable. Biggies fall right into its jaws. It seems to be the most humane spider catcher on amazon as well. The reach perhaps is not enough for the real wusses. Anyway, surely its cheaper and easier just to use your hand or kill the bliter?!

Excellent product! was sceptical about the whole idea of glue on cardboard, but bought them anyway. opened and set 1 Put some chocolate and peanuts in the centre. 3 hours later i'm at my friends and my wife's on the phone having a fit! Quick come home! there is mouse on the trap and I don't know what to do! What a result, they do work and can not fault it. I got a plastic tub with holes in the lid and cut around the area the mouse was with a Stanley knife. Then placed the mouse still attached to the glue in the tub and poured some oil onto it. Took about 8 seconds and it was free, then I drove to my mates and let it go. The mouse was a fully grown one.

I have now been running this device in my flat for more than a month to attempt to dislodge an invasion of spiders. Unfortunately it has had no effect at all.

Used these quite a bit now - they do work well but beware they only move the problem elsewhere. I will continue to use these in conjunction with an ultrasonic device to keep my garden cat/fox/badger free. Price is very good compared to other sites/garden centres.

Electronic Mouse Killer

The reservation is that I had to fiddle about with the 4 AA batteries to get it to function. I told the wife I was going to send it back. But then, I got the green light to come on and ever since it has worked like magic.

I leave it in the loft next to a joist because I hear them scrabbling at night. Since June I must have caught about 10 of them - it once zapped two of them at once. Disposal is easy. I used to use poison and they would die in hidden places and stink to high heaven - no such worries now. So go ahead and buy - you won't be disappointed.
