Cool album rammed with soooo many artistes that I love! Pretty much all the big songs of the last two or so years or so but I kind of wish there was more of Jools Holland himself... That aside, the track that stands out above the rest has to be Amy Winehouse's `Tears Dry On their Own'. It's down right brilliant and probably the best recording of her live out there at the moment. Kasabien and White Stripes are also totally cool with `Empire' and `My Doorbell' utterly rocking my face!

Much has been made of this album and the singles lifted from it, particularly the now grating 'Mercy' (surely a candidate for most annoying pop single of the year). Dont get me wrong I quite liked this when I heard it for the very first time but after a being force fed it by the radio several times I suddenly realised how weak it was. Its trying too hard to be something it is not ie a classic 60's pop song, its simply a pale approximation.

How she has been compared to the legendary Dusty Springfield is one of lifes great mysteries it must surely be simply a visual thing. Otherwise its like comparing cheap wool with silk. Will she be remembered in 30 years time? I doubt it.

Deluxe ? We all have the original album.There is around 68 mins of music in TOTAL which could comfortably fit on one CD.Great talent, but surely she should be able to produce more than 25mins of new material.
Must be Christmas soon...........

How adorable is Duffy? I first saw her performing on Jools Holland's TV show and was completely won over by her performance. She has an amazing voice and judging from the amazing Rockferry and current single Mercy, her album is going to be awesome. Loving the arkwork on this single too.

Rockferry is a big slice of retro soul ballad, it sounds like it could be right out of the 60s while at the same time coming across effortless modern. Epic in its grandeur, a beautifully moving song.

Oh Boy is very different from the a-side, it's yet another platform for Duffy to show off her incredible vocals. A sweet little number with just her and an acoustic guitar, this reminds me of the Sugababes song 'New ... Read More:

A local song by a local band (normally sold in a local shop to local people(thanks to the league of gentlemen for that idea) dedicated to the lead singers father.Released just in time for Tranmere Rovers's valiant efforts in the Worthington Cup Final.Was actually played pre-match at a few games (or so rumour has it). A lively first track which is an amusing cover of the classic first track (well classic around here at least)You don't have to be a fan of Tranmere Rovers or live in Rock Ferry to enjoy this single (it might help but it's not compulsory).
If you like hard edged electric guitar riffs (with a disturbing hillbilly feel),classic rock drumming style (but with a punk edge) and a bass line that's subtle (yet surprisingly pervasive)
