I had the tape of this and loaned it to a woman I worked with, she was then suspended from work and in the interim I left my job to go to another one. In short, I would like it back, so if you are reading this (you know who you are!) can you find some way of getting it back to me? I could just buy a replacement couldn't I? Maybe I will. Anyway, this is more good '...Clue', some hilarious moments, particularly on the anniversary show with Stephen Fry (sound charades is among many funny moments). Clue fans will know what to expect and will not be disappointed. I have to agree with the writer of the 1-star review that the actress who plays Elphaba on Broadway (and is featured on the cd) definitely has a disappointing voice compared to the West End actress. However, I do think that the actors playing Glinda and the Wizard, in contrast, have a better voice on Broadway, compensating a little for Elpahaba. I really do hope that a West End version of this cd will become available at some point.

I have two little girls age 6 and 8. We have owned this cd for over 2 years and they just haven't tired of it. In fact I am contemplating buying another one as our original box is broken and the lyrics sheet unreadable! They know all the words and all the tunes and have spent many hours dancing on the lovely songs from the original soundtracks.
This is a magical cd that I will keep forever long after my girls have left the nest to remind me what they used to be like when they truly thought they were princesses and that their prince charming would really come!

I'm not from the US, my family hail from Kashmir and I was born in the UK, grew up listening to punk rock but WOW! The soundtrack literally drips with the era and place it hails from; every time I hear a snippet I swear I can feel the heat and smell the wheat - so amazing!

Ry Cooder is one of the most wonderful guitarists on the planet.Anyone looking to play guitar should listen to him,because when it comes to tone,to texture and beautiful playing he's among the very best there is.The rave over Stevie Ray's,Hendrix,et all as great as they are no question of that RC is a master of his art.This anthology has a wonderful range of varying styles from a whole range of his albums right upto his 2008 release I Flathead,and it's all fabulous stuff,no fillers here at all.listen to the texture in his film scores like Paris Texas,or his take on Johnny Cash's Get Rhythm to the wonderful unreleased track Let's Get Together.You get 34 tracks for your money,all put together by his son Joachim,plus notes by the man himself.This is surely among the ... I've been a soundtrack enthusiast since I was a boy, and as with many who share my passion the Indiana Jones soundtracks have long been amongst the most beloved and yet still frustrating albums I have owned.

Of course, John Williams' classic mix of brassy heroism, muscular action and broad romantic motifs need no introduction - a perfect mix of 1930s musical idioms and contemporary pace and styling. But for so long we had to endure cut down selections on album, with so many great cues missing.

Admittedly the DDC/Silva reissue of Raiders did much to correct this for the first score, and the original Last Crusade album pushed the limits of the original CD release and felt moderately complete, but Temple of Doom was always the weak link.

London Undersound

I saw Nitin play in Bristol in early November 2008 and he gave the best performance of the 5 times I have seen him. A delicate and sensitive gig, with Nitin mainly playing acoustic guitar, accompanied by some sublime cello playing and indian flute and tabla playing - all mixed with dreamy singing. This album reflects all that. A true concept album - a 45 minute journey through life today. Such a wide variety of influnces - how wrong the last reviewer is! This is a great Nitin album,and I've loved him from the start. Turn it on, lie back on the sofa and let yourself drift away.

Monkey: Journey to the West

Back ground music this is not! This album is full of extraordinary sounds and feelings that are powerful and strange. It is impossible to listen to this as background music, but if you enjoy music for the range of emotions and physical experiences it evokes you will love this album. Yes, there is the trademark Albarn waltz underlying "I love Buddha", and the more westernised tracks tend to be underpinned by thumping Gorillaz baselines, but this album is as strange and different as it should be. There is no English, but Mandarin, many of the instruments are strange, and the melodies are rooted in Chinese folk traditions. You will either find this album wierd and inaccessible, or utterly exhilerating. Deserves to be listened to properly and loudly!!
