When Footloose came out in 1984, it was an instant hit. Everybody I knew raced out to see it, and a lot of the tunes from it became hits. Well, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the release of the movie, this CD was released with all of the tunes digitally remastered! In fact, as a bonus, this CD has four tracks that were not on the original album.
OK, what can I say? This CD isn't just the soundtrack of the movie Footloose, it's almost a soundtrack of 1984! Among its great tunes are Footloose, Let's Hear It For The Boy, and a tune I really love, Holding Out For A Hero. Yep, I love this CD. If you are into 1980s music, then this is a great album to get!

I really enjoyed the 5th Harry Potter book and mainly for the creation of Professor Umbridge! J.K. Rowling has created such a good villain with this character, I really could not stand the woman by the end of the book and the reader could really identify with the characters frustration with this vile and unfair woman. This book really sees the main charcacters growing up and is darker than the previous ones, I thought it was brilliant.

Right, im a massive John Williams fan, and when I saw this box set, i had to add it to my collection. Kinda wished i hadnt now though. The Recordings on this cd are for the most part average at best, with one or two exceptions. Being a musician myself, im probably a lot more nit picky than most consumers would be though. The orchestra, and in particular the brass section, is very scrappy in many of the tracks. Its almost as if they are sight reading their parts, as there are very many mistakes in places, and the tuning is also diabolical a lot of the time (with some horendous vibrato from the trumpets in some of the indiana jones themes, it sounds more like a new orleans jazz band in places). My advice to people looking to buy ... Read More:

I was really disappointed when listening to these recordings. I had an old recording of Morricone on a tape, which I love, and thought I was to find the same on this CD. But the interpretations are really different (I agree with one of the previous comments), and are far from carrying the same emotions.
Don't do like me, and listen to the song samples to make sure this is what you want.

I've always been a fan of Pam Ayres- the way she reads her poetry has me crying with laughter. Her ingenius poem 'Oh I wish I'd looked after me teeth' is read with such hilarity that you just can't help but laugh. Every poem is wonderfully read and this tape is a fantastic bargain!

Doctor Who Original Music from Series Three
The Doctor Who music just keeps getting better and better. The album begins with the track 'All The Strange, Strange Creatures', an overall theme for the entire series. It's very fun to listen to. There are so many good tracks on this album, it's hard to pick a few and write about them. 'The Carrionites Swarm', 'Boe', 'Yana', 'Martha's Quest' and 'This Is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home' are the ones that stand out for me. They are epic and profound, and very addictive. A previous reviewer complained that the song 'My Angel Put The Devil In Me' (for the episode Daleks Of Manhattan') was sung by a different woman to the one who sung it in the actual episode, but I prefer the album version. A very ... Read More:

The song Flashdance is of course part of musical history now, so of course you want it...is the album from which it came a gold-mine of similar hits...? Well, nearly. There are some great songs here, in fact I'd buy the album alone for the two very strange tracks "He's A Dream" by Shandi and "Manhunt" by Karen Kamon" which are SOOOO 80's you just have to love them. Then there are two tracks by major artists (Donna Summer and Laura Branigan) that don't appear on any other album by them (as far as I know). Both pretty good, unusual productions. The rest of the album is made up of drippy ballads and the WORST power-pop track you will ever hear - "Seduce Me Tonight" by Cycle V (who???). And I'm sorry, but even the celebrated track ... This is of course the sound track to the Hugh Grant/Drew Barrymore romantic comedy Music and Lyrics. If you've seen the film and enjoyed it, you'll love this. It's got all the versions described in the blurb on the Amazon item, and although I inevitably skip all of the quite frankly terrible (but deliberately so, so it's not that bad) Cora Corman songs, I really, really love the ones that involved Hugh Grant.
They include the brilliantly bad 80s records by his character's band Pop, joyous in their accurate send up of the 80s pop scene, bad because they are more schmaltzy than you can imagine. The only songs which are really good for their own sake are the two versions of Way Back Into Love, and Don't Write Me Off. I can be incredibly girly when I want to, and those ... Read More:

First, I didn't know who was David Bowie and what kind of tracks has he got. But, when both of my cousins and my sister singed it every time and my sister got a David Bowie CD, I listened to it. It was... wonderful. Now I know why are they collecting lyrics, pictures and CD-s from David Bowie & Trevor Jones. I only dislike Chilly Down and Within you, but my favourite tracks are Home at Last, Thirteen O'Clock and Underground; but I also like Hallucination, As the World Falls Down and Magic Dance tracks. The matter is just that I couldn't see the film yet but I DEMAND IT!
