All great artists generally leave enough material for a posthumous album of some sorts, generally a pork scratching type affair which rarely adds anything to the existing cannon. I think the opposite is true here and that this is greatest of the three albums that The Mescaleros recorded and possibly better than anything Joe recorded with The Clash. I think that taking Joe out of mixing/mastering stages has left his band to complete the album without Joe vetoing anything that he might think commercial and as a consequence I think this is the most immediate album in Joe's cannon.
Festival anthem `Coma Girl' is the strongest opening song any album could hope for and the pace doesn't settle down through the pseudo religious `Get Down ... Read More:

This is the best album Ive heard for a long time, Im a brummie myself so might be slightly biased, but this really is the best Ive heard UB40 sound since "who you fighting for?" its such a shame that the band were fragmenting whilst it was being recorded, but if this is the LAST album they put out as the original members then theyve gone out in style with no loss of the panache theyve displayed over the years.
God bless UB40, the songs have always made you think about the deeper stuff in life but its nice to think about that whilst also dancing.

This was the very first Trojan box set that I bought a few years ago, If I'm feeling a bit chilled out I always play this first. I really do love the tracks from the amazing Roots Radics band, but this is a very diverse compilation which I think is esential in your reggea collection. As the title to this review says: Great intro to dub.

I'm a 22 year old with gothic tendancies, and I'm quite varied in my musical taste (I love Nine Inch Nails, HIM, Marilyn Manson, Bryan Adams, Guns n Roses, Sting, Nickelback and the Mediaeval Baebes amongst many others). I think Good Charlotte have some fantastic songs: they're catchy, passionate and funny in equal measure. What does it matter what genre they are? I think they're great. There's very few songs which I don't like (which is very rare) and there's not a duff song on this album.

This is such a classic album, which still sounds fresh 13 years after it was made. It has brilliant basslines, great production and tunes that just stick right in your head. It has a wonderful mix of upbeat folky dub madness like Little Britain and Captain Dread, alongside ambient dub excursions like Shining Light, Cave Of Angels and A Canterbury Tale. These ambient tunes are what really make this album special, taylormade for listening to when out amongst nature like walking in mountains, or sitting round a campfire at dawn. And I never get tired of them. In fact this is a perfect album for anyone who goes travelling to a strange new land, I've listened to it in Morocco and on the Inca Trail in Peru and it just seems to fit those special moments. Play it loud and go to some ... Read More:

This edition is a combined version of the Greatest Hits packages that were available a few years back. Divine Madness was originally released almost 15 years ago but a few years ago it was updated with re-mastered sound and two extra tracks, Love Struck and Johnny the Horse from their come-back album in 1999.
A Madness collection really could hardly be any more complete. All the hits are here and sounding remarkably fresh, being more than 20 years old. The sound of the CD is much better than the original version of Divine Madness.
Only the most die hard Madness fans need any more than this collection, with the possible exception of their brilliant (but commercial flop) Mad Not Mad. This is classic Madness in one perfect package.

Few people have acknowledged the fact that Steel Pulse predicted the Handsworth Riots three years before they happened with this visionary, melodic but gritty album. The potent social, political and historical references demonstrate just why they were so adored by the punk fraternity. Plus they produced the best badges to adorn any leather jacket.
