This is the most beautiful music I've heard in a long while. It creates a wonderful mood and takes one on a journey which one wants to be endless. Fabulously crafted. The best of East meets West.

If you have volume one of this series then you will be tempted to buy volume two. Trojan have really researched well to make this compilation. Buy it if you like the old time styles of reggae!

Ok, like most people I loved "It wasn't me" so when I went on a school trip I had some spending money and picked up this album to listen to on the coach home, It was brilliant and catchy listened to it for a few week and put it away. I recently rediscovered this and I have to say it is the best album I have ever heard, its got the up beat songs and the slower songs. But best of all it is the CD for players! If you are about to go out on a date and your nervous put this CD on it will make you feel invinsible. I cannot reccomend it enough! Buy it now!

and that's a live Cat Empire gig.
A great intro to the band.
They're a bit of an odd sound on first listen but will soon have you smiling, toe tapping and singing at the top of your voice!
Buy it!!

All the 'One Drop' collections give reassurance that true roots reggae music is very much alive. The best thing about these collection is that they serve to often introduce the masses to some new genuine reggae artists. This is not just a random selection of tracks-care has been taken to give a great flavour of everything fresh on the cuurent reggae scene.I am really impresses with the artists on offer here and I will be checkin'out more of their music.Truly the best of reggae dance hall minus the ragga, drum and bass style that I personally don't like.Old skool is New Skool! Ride the riddims-go deh! Don't forget to check this set.

I have been a long time Goldfinger fan. I got into them around the 'stomping ground' era and have loved them ever since. Hello Destiny is based around albums between 'self titled' and 'stomping ground' in my opinion, as the album has elements of ska and punk rock.
This album is vastly different from disconnected notice, however part of me isn't convinced thats a good thing. I must admit, when I first heard DN when it was first released I was dissapointed, as the album didn't reflect the goldfinger I fell in love with. However, over time I began to appriciate DN for what it was, and when you try not to compare it with 'old' goldfinger (like so many people do) its not actually a bad album, and you can see the clear change and growth of the style ... Dennis Bovell's production on Bass Culture is outstanding, maybe not up there with Making History, but still above and beyond the call of genius. This is my favourite LKJ record though, for the lyrics as much as the sound:
Shock-black bubble-doun beat bouncing
rock-wise tumble-doun sound music
bass history is a moving
is a hurting black story.
And the lyrics to track 5, but you'll have to buy a copy of the Penguin Classics "Mi Revalueshanary Fren" for that. Cos all I've got here to quote (in poem format) from is EA Markham's "Hinterland" (recommended, for what it's worth), which along with above excerp has an LKJ interview that has stayed in my mind for ages:

I bought 'Two Sevens Clash' and a couple of other Culture albums in the late Seventies, and the sweet singing over classic Joe Gibbs backing tracks have always had a special place for me.
Now, thanks to the archaeological wonders of cd releases, you can have some of Culture's best tracks, sounding terrific in digital form, along with a variety of DJ additions, making each track a delight however well you remember the original. A must for any reggae fan.

I Was A Bit Optimistic About The Album All The Reviews I Had Read Had Top Marks. But.........
This Ska/Punk Cd Is Out Of This World. All Of The Song Are Amazing And Most Of The Songs Are World Class.
This Cd NEEDS To Be In Your Collection.
It's Worth Every Penny.
