I got this before going to see Van Morrison Live at Symphony Hall. The CD made up for the lack of known songs sung by Van in his live performance. It was a strange affair, he did not speak to the audience and performed a very self indulgant show. However I can't fault the CD it is great.

If ever a modern day artiste could fill the mighty shoes of Marvin Gaye then It's Seal. Emerging from obscurity as the dreadlocked dude who added attitude to Adamski's Killer and made the summer of 1990, he then emerged with his own eponymous album in 1991. "Crazy", "Future Love Paradise" and a reworked"Killer" made great listening. But it was the slow growing"Seal" of 1994 which really blew me away. a perfectly formed shaven Seal is framed against a pure white background and an iconic image is formed. The songs are outstanding "Bring it On" "Prayer for the Dying" "Dream in Metaphors" are soul searching and soul soothing especially at the time when I was raw from being dumped by a then girlfriend. "Kiss from A Rose" needs no intro propelled into ... Read More:

At first listen, it would seem that Robin Thicke's "Something Else" is not up to par with his last effort, the million-selling "Evolution of Robin Thicke." It's shorter in running time than its predecessor and does not rely as much on guest artists as did "Evolution."
However, it is the brevity of the album and Thicke's concentration on delivering a tight collection of tunes that makes the new release equal to the one before it.
Thicke, obviously, wants to pay tribute to those that came before by crafting songs that could easily have been done by the likes of Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, James Brown, and even Robert Palmer.
The singer really comes through on the uptempo as well as the ballads. Thicke served as solo ... Read More:

A great album gathering all the big hits.
Although some classic Commodores tracks are missing such as 'I Feel Sanctified'.
There is another Compilation with all of their funky tracks although these are only the short versions.
There should be a companion CD of long lost 12" and extended remixes.
Surely 'Nightshift' was released after Lionel Richie had left the Commodores, and so it has no place on one of his albums?

I brought this album for one purpose and one purpose only 'Let's Stay Together'
I didn't know who sang it because I was an 80's baby raised in the 90's it was before my time, but eventually found out that Al did.
After owning this album 2 months now I have been gripped by Al's presents on the mic, I now have 15 favorite songs on the album, they don't call it greatest hits for nothing!!
I feel so strongly about this album because when ever I hear it, it just makes me feel good, I literally have a smile on my face throughout the album!!
I have an ultimate favorite, but it was hard to pick with great songs like 'Simply Beautiful' 'Sha La La' 'Tired of Being Alone' and 'How Can You Mend a Broken Heart' getting in the way, but 'L.O.V.E.' ... Read More:
