This album blew my mind when I first heard it 15 years or so ago. From the first to the last this album reaches the pinnacles that other artists just cannot. To think that it is over 30 years old to me it sounds fresher and more vital than most of the bland R&B that is being offered up today. Also it's political message still blows me away.
This album is so good that everyone should own it. Infact if you know someone who doesn't get them a copy. It would count as a genuine act of kindness on your part.

It is clear that jamiroquai are something of an unusual band. I remember seeing them for the first time on TV in around 1993, (I think it was the show, The Word) performing Too Young To Die, and immediately clocked the retro 70's jazz funk style and as i was and still am a fan of such music, immediately became a fan and went out and bought the single.
The fender rhodes keys, the Stevie Wonder-esque voice, the funky bass and horns, and the sci-fi imagery and lyrics, all came to make a great sound and package, and whats more the first proper British jazz funk since Light of The World, and a great antidote to the Brit pop or electronicky stuff around.
Their first album was a constant visitor to my Cd player.
What was more surprising ... Read More:

pinks try this tour is not quite as good as the im not dead tour i think this is because the new songs on pinks im not dead album are so much popular that it just doesnt measure up pink is defeniently a rock godess and all should bow down in front of her feet pink goes to such lengths to make her fans happy that she gets suspended up in the air sings live and does acrobotics pink is a good exaple of an all rounder she can sing dance

Many Motown stars recorded Christmas albums and tracks from those albums have been the source of many Motown Christmas compilations. This is one of a pair of British budget compilations that are as good as any I've seen, with an excellent mix of famous and obscure songs and all the singers you expect to hear.
Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Temptations and Stevie Wonder are each represented by three tracks. The Jackson five get two tracks. The Four Tops also get two, including one featuring guest vocalist Aretha Franklin. Kim Weston and Marvin Gaye have one song each.
For me, the highlights are Everything for Christmas (Temptations), Little bright star (Diana Ross and the Supremes), Warm little home on a ... Read More:

You could play a fully credible disco night armed with nothing more than these five cds. If a definitive chart was made of the 500 top tunes from the dance decade of 1975-1984 this set would claim an absolute minimum of 50 places.
One ill informed reviewer knocks legenary weekender tunes on CD3 as fillers and bemoans the lack of Abba, Bee Gees and Dexy's Midnight Runners. It's precisely that absence which makes this such a credible set. I already owned perhaps 80 or 90 of these tracks but the purchase was well worth it for Janice Macclain's Smack Dab in the Middle and then again for the huge grin that spread across my face when I heard Wikka Wrap again for the first time in twenty years.
If you have only a few disco tracks in your collection then my ... Read More:

If you were too young at the time to buy his albums but old enough to remember how cool he was and do some sexy dance moves too. This is for you, it has all the greats on there and is a good addition if your adding a few 80's icones to your CD collection.

Don't think, just buy.
Had this for ages listened to it thousands of times.
Also it's priceless just play the first track LOUD to any unsuspecting victim.

Do not buy this album. It is a live recording, with Dionne in poor form. The wording Live has disappeared from the album photo supplied with the advert.

I decided to buy this after hearing Just Dance on the internet. I am pleaseantly suprised as well....a collection of really good pop songs - especially Fame and I Like it Rough.
Something tells me she could she be the new Madonna....

James Brown was always a big fan of Christmas - in fact, he recorded several Christmas albums over the course of his career, including a rare Internet-only release just a couple of years before his passing. That aside, 'Funky Christmas' gathers together tracks from each of Brown's festive LP's, so fans can have him on the stereo instead of Cliff Richard (sorry, Cliff)!
This record places more emphasis on his soul work, and there are not as many funky grooves as some might expect. It is also surprisingly serious, even grim in some places, as James sings of Christmas in the ghetto, and trying to get by without a dime in December. It's good music to reflect to, and certainly one of the most original Christmas albums I've heard. However, at Christmas time, I think ... Read More:
