Ryan Adams is a rarity - a genuine tortured artist. He writes with heartfelt angst and sometimes, cynically delivers parodies of his favourite styles. I saw him play at the Academy this week, and compared to any other performance of his that I've seen, he was damned near perfect. Off drugs, booze, etc. he and his band sounded great. Cardinology is his first real rock recording - live, it is ear splitting. On record, it is brief, nice on the ears. Live, it is passionate, driving and convincing. The ballads are the best, of course, but Go Easy, Fix it and even the parody of U2 - Magic are dynamic. I like Crossed Out Name, Natural Ghost and Cobwebs. The Carter 3 is a good album , but is Waynes weakest by far.
If you havnt heard the old Carters then i suggest that you listen to them before claiming C3 is Waynes greatest album.
Dont get me wrong C3 is still a top album ( 5 Stars ) but i think it is highly overated.
Most Recognisable Tracks include Lil Waynes hit Lollipop Ft Static Major.
A Millie
And Got Money Ft T-Pain
Artist such as Juelz Santana, Fabolous, Bobby Valentino and Jay-Z also feature among others.
I recomend this album to anyone but suggest that listeners also listen to Waynes early work Eg. The Carters 1 & 2 , 500 Degreez.
Also Waynes Mixtapes Eg. The Droughts , Dedications , The Leaks.

R&B Collection

This is quite a good selection of RnB hits from past and present.
It certainly fills some gaps in my CD collection. My personal favourites are the tracks by Joe, Akon, Christina Milian, Blackstreet, Boyz II Men, Outkast, Nelly and Usher. Wow! That's eight tracks! Admittedly some tracks have been played to death but there's is no denying that UMTV have put together another top quality compilation with most of the biggest names in modern RnB. This is bound to be a best seller!!

Aha Shake Heartbreak

This album has some great songs. Album opener 'Slow Night, So Long' really grabs your attention and is the second best song on this LP. The best is 'Milk', a cracking tune. 'King Of The Rodeo' and 'Day Old Blues' also get special mention. What carried the Kings of Leon's first LP, 'Youth and Young Manhood' through the weaker tracks was the southernness of the LP. It existed as a complete album of high quality. On 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' they've departed from the southern sound, so there is nothing tying the album together. So alas, though this album has some great songs when the quality of the song dips the album loses a link. 'Aha Shake Heartbreak' is not as good as 'Youth and Young Manhood', but it's a good effort none the less.

OK, critics will say this is another very regional accent sounding album, one of many artists like that at the moment (artic monkeys, reverand and the makers etc.) but saying that, this is a very good album for me. Nice easy listening, catchy without being nasty pop music. Dont expect anything too deep, but good iPod music, especially when the sun shines. Follows on nicely from the last album. It's on my playlist!

I thought this CD had got lost in our recent house move and was delighted when it turned up in one the last boxes to be opened. I immediately rushed to listen again even though it is early March and am once again entranced by the warmth and beauty of the music and the singing. You really can play this CD anytime in the year and that is what I am doing now! If you buy it you will not be disappointed!

I've loved Leona since seeing her in the auditions in the Xfactor and truly think she has one of the best voices we've heard for a long time.
I was anxiously waiting to hear her new album, especially after the amazing track that was 'Bleeding Love', but unfortunately i think the album comes a little short.
Don't get me wrong, when the songs were right the album was awesome, and there are about 5 or 6 brilliant songs on here including Bleeding Love, Better in Time and Homeless. I just hope that in her next album, every track is amazing, because in this album there are too many naff songs. Lets hope that her AMAZING cover of Snow Patrol's Run is a sign of things to come.

Yet another great double CD box set in the classical album series! Containing all the best new versions of classical tracks, including Only Men Aloud, Bryn Terfel and Russel Watson to name but a few. I certainly don't feel anyone could go wrong buying this compilation!
