I feel that the album is actually better overall than the single - tho can only be pleased that the single brought attention. It is a considerable accolade to say that the sound reminds me of one of the best indie bands for many years - Neutral Milk Hotel.

What a total load of rubbish! the songs are neither good, polished or suit Madonna's voice at all. Such a shame! as Confessions was such a brilliant album, to be followed up by this! All the songs sound exactly the same (except the only 2 passable singles that she has released already) I cant belive she is actually touring and promoting this trash! I think the days of timberland and timberlake trying to help the aged is over! Please no more! Madonna needs to get back to her roots and come up with a stylish pop vibe, thats what she is, The Queen of Pop, not the Dowager Queen of dross! I feel I have wasted my money. Dont buy unless you can convince yourself you will like anything she will put out!

This album is twice as good as his previous effort and I have therefore given it two stars. His voice is still annoying though. Maybe someone should suggest to him (nicely) he does an instrumental album. Yikes..

I have to agree with the writer of the 1-star review that the actress who plays Elphaba on Broadway (and is featured on the cd) definitely has a disappointing voice compared to the West End actress. However, I do think that the actors playing Glinda and the Wizard, in contrast, have a better voice on Broadway, compensating a little for Elpahaba. I really do hope that a West End version of this cd will become available at some point.

Just when I thought a nostalgic Christmas was over I came across this super 2 CD set from NotNow. The set boasts 50 songs and a whole host of well known stars too. It is good to have a mix of both American and British stars represented and there are even duets.
This is a welcome addition to the Christmas titles offering something just a little different and with Eartha Kitt, David Whitfield, Dickie Valentine, Bing, Dick, Frank, Perry, Nat, Ella, Peggy and Judy to serenade you whilst you cook that traditional roast turkey what more could you ask for?
Favourite songs for me are "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"; "Silver Bells"; "Santa Claus got Stuck in My Chimney" and the traditional carols.

Doctor Who Series 4 Original TV Soundtrack

The BBC continue to release their season soundtracks to Doctor who with music from the latest series, the much debated season four.
Unlike his work for the previous three years Murray Gold has increased the scope of the score to have a more orchestral feel and opens up the sound to make it feel as grand as possible. While this might work on a motion picture it doesn't really translate as well for a television series.
The disc contains 27 tracks in all, some of which are worthy of note and some which are not. The underlying problem with the score is that a lot of the tracks tend to run to the same sort of sound making them all too similar.
There is also a lean towards some slightly more 'hymn-like' backing which makes the songs sound almost religious. ... Read More:

I brought this album in special edition and i must say it's the best slipknot album yet. songs like: sulphur,dead memories,butchers hook and psychosocial are the best to listen to and backed up by so many other cool tracks this album is a rare treat and the best album of 2008.
