Loved the movie, bought the disc. Unlike some movie sound tracks where you wonder how you thought the soundtrack would keep alive the memory of the movie, this one really does. The quirky and independent music mirrors the film's style and characters, witty, unusual and highly entertaining. How can you not love a disc that includes such lyrics as from Kimya Dawson's 'Loose Lips'; "they think we're disposable, well both my thumbs opposable are spelled out on a double word and triple letter score". Awesome.

As I listen to this I'm driving to the Brecon Jazz festival. Here the jazz can range from heavy to funky but one pub there plays rock and blues all weekend in the face of all that jazz. This album make me feel like I'm there already - foot tapping, hip sswinging, real funky rocking blues. Brilliant!
Sacred Arias, Katherine Jenkins' 6th studio album, is not yet released (until Oct 20th 2008) so this review (and in fact all others) should be considered only as my comments on its much anticipated arrival. Without hearing the music, judgment can be made only on the choice of songs (and a lovely album cover photo too) and not Katherine's interpretation of them.
The album marks a return to the classical market where she has found such success - her first 4 albums all enjoyed lengthy periods at number 1 in the UK Classical Charts, while her 5th (Serenade) with less than 60% of its content being classical, made it ineligible for the Classic Chart (although it did peak at number 3 in the UK Album Chart).

Bob Marley is to reggae what Bowie is to Glam Rock and Garry Johnson is to punk...the king of a movement and the voice of a generation.
Every track is a classic...No Woman No Cry and Redemption Song will still be sung in a 100 years time.
This is more than a greatest hits album - it is a masterpiece and a work of art...

Widely thought of now as Metallica's masterpiece............but not by me. Still, this is a terrific album, furious, ferocious and chock full of the huge riffery, solos and downright Metal-ness that, by that point in time, people expected from the 4 piece. It has a sadness too though that this was Cliff Burton's last album before his untimely death. But for me there is a lingering problem with 'Master' - some of the songs are overlong! I know that sounds silly, but 'Leper Messiah' is the worst example, an overlong jam, with not a lot musically going on, apart from an 11th hour time change that is good, but too little too late. The other is 'Orion' This might offend people because it's been the 'signature' theme to the Metallica videos where footage of ... Read More:

The tracks by Coldplay and Keene are excellent....my heart and soul and eyes shed a tear of joy, brilliant music, re-created into an excellent classical arrangement...I hope they do some more!!!!

High School Musical is being talked about by teenager's everywhere, so I was determined to see what it was like. I asked someone I knew (who is obsessed with it) If I could borrow their copy of the soundtrack - And now I wish I hadn't. For staters the actual music is just over-used up beat dance tracks. With some weak mordern R and B thrown in. The things kicks of with a song entitled "Start of Something New". The song is merely just a badly written, horribly sang pop song. The vocals are very poor, there are signs of lack of emotion (in all the tracks). The second one, which is more of an R and B tune, is well irritating. The whole trainers squeeking in the back ground is simply annoying beyond beliefe. The "Gota getcha getcha getcha head in the game" ... Read More:

Just how did they decide which song should be a single. With perhaps the exception of Wooden Boat, all of these songs could have been a single. All the lads take a turn at singing lead and all take credit for the combined work. A truly incredible feat, for the best selling band in the country to take 10 years off, not only come back but come back better. If this is a refection of what we are to expect in the future I can't wait for the next album

A really excellent Kinks collection. The whole CD drips with classy recordings from a hugely influential band. The price is a steal, the quality is uncompromising. A treasure trove of innovative British music, full of songs that surely require little or no introduction.
The Kinks made some superb music & a good cross section can be found here - you really would be barking mad not to get this, it's just ideal !
