I'm gonna keep this pretty short,in a nut shell this is the greatest rock album ever, riffs to blow you into the 22nd century, and beyound. Sounds as fantastic today as when it came out.

It's one of those things that, when you first think about it, it really doesn't and shouldn't work.
Ever.
But after coming across this album's version of "Nothing Else Matters" on Kerrang! TV, I was shocked and also intrigued by what else the album may have in store.
Now, most people know Metallica as one of the most influencial and outstanding metal bands of all-time, so when fans heard that they would be combining themselves with the San Francisco Symphony, as you can imagine, assumptions were made before they music was even heard.
This is one of the most beautifully constructed albums that I have ever heard, and the fact that it is a live recording just adds to the charm of it all. It holds all the amazing work ... Read More:

I heard one track by them on the radio and then found I liked a load more of the music. I ended up buying all the cds they had made so, yes, I can recommend them.
I just love their style of music and in particular, 'Last Train Home' which was the song that grabbed by attention. This single won the Best Single in the Kerrang Awards 2004.

Staind have consistenly delivered commercially sucessful albums, right from their early days as a nu metal band and now a radio friendly alternative/hard rock group.
Their latest offering, The Illusion of Progress, is no exception to this rule, it's not groundbreaking material, but it's what Staind have released rather sucessfully in the past.
Fans expecting a album like Dsyfunction or Tormented are advised to stay away, because any metal influences here are long gone, in fact I don't think Aaron Lewis screams once.
In fact, this is an album made up nearly entirely of power ballads, the best of which being "All I Want" and "Save Me."
It's not exactly going to gain Staind a whole new generation of fans, but existing fans of Staind ... Read More:

Right then, firstly, hats off to Chris Daughtry.
A talented singer, songwriter and guitarist struggling to break into the music business, decides to try his hand at American Idol.
The result? A mediocre 4th place finish.
You could have forgiven him for giving up on his dreams, but he dusted himself off, sorted out his self titled band and debut album and this is the quite brilliant result.
I've always wondered what an album would sound like without any filler tracks, by that I mean writing an album where every single song could be considered for a single release, well, this is it.
Simply brilliant from start to finish, Chris even manages to hire probably one for best guitarists in the world, Slash, for a guest appearance on ... Read More:

Never heard of the Rasmus a couple of weeks ago until I stumbled on the video for "living in a world without you' on youtube, loved the track and bought the album, and what an album!
this is real classy rock music, there's nothing crass or immature about these guys, just solid catchy intelligent music and I can't recommend it highly enough
I'll definitely be looking into their back catalogue, what a find!

If you know little of this beloved British band beyond their three Greatest Hits albums and the bombast of their Eighties stadium shows, then this extraordinary record may have eluded you. Time to make amends. Queen II is one of the most ambitious, decadent, preposterous and exhilarating encounters between man and recording studio in the history of popular music. 'A Night At The Opera' from 1975 may be more balanced, considered and mature, but for sheer bloody bravado and musical abandon, Queen II takes all comers. It should be part of the national curriculum, awarded the Victoria Cross, shot into space for alternative life forms to marvel at. It's Brian May's favourite Queen album and it will become yours too. Seeing it offered up for mere pounds is nothing short ... Read More:

I can understand some folk purists wanting to hate this before they've even heard it, and it could have ended up as a complete dogs breakfast. Yes if they'd given the whole undertaking to Bellowhead it might have been a classic, but on the whole it's not turned out too bad, and there's something to be said for the eclectic nature of the thing.
I'll have nothing said against Baby Gramps, he's a fine guitarist and that's no affectation, he really does sound like Popeye's drunken brother. Surprisingly of the "Big Names" Sting makes the best fist of his effort. I say surprising because he strikes me as the most unlikeable of people. Unsurprisingly Bono misses the point completely, and confirms that he is now completely and utterly up himself.

This is a damned fine album. I mean, notwithstanding the fact that it's 'Ecky and not Icky Thump, added to the fact that I am slightly bored with the concept of The White Stripes and wasn't exactly excited to hear that Jack & Meg were releasing a new album in 2007, the content of this album - or at least the majority of it - has won me over. There are plenty of songs on this album that would easily fit alongside the best output of 'White Blood Cells' or 'Elephant' and hearing that they had gone back to the hard-edged, bluesy style they excel at was pleasing.
Straight away, when I heard the lyrics of the title track, especially the lines;
"White Americans, what?/Nothing better to do?/Why don't you kick yourself out?/You're an immigrant too!"
