my personal Zep favourite....and then you get the rest of this excellent double album for free, what a bargain!!! I bought the original vinyl on the day of release and even now, over 30 years on, I still pick it out of the rack (now on cd) anytime I require a blast of musical genius.

how come none of you people are ostracizing this guy? oh wait....he was only studying, not looking for pleasure! or maybe its got something to do with his 100million fortune swaying the case? poor old gary. anyway - the music. its ok. a bit over-rated. the who never really were the leaders of the gang, know what i mean?

This album has something for everyone (even racists, if you thing about "One in A Million"), but generally was partially opportunistic (releasing the EP - Live Like a Suicide) and another four acoustic tracks. How it would look to fans was very much parodied within the album cover which exploits the tabloid nature of their press at the time. The songs are all solid, even the acoustic version of "Your crazy" generally seems to work better than the electric version. 'Patience' is a fantastic song which, at the time really showed people some of the potential range and scope of the band. "Used to Love Her" is very tongue in cheek and reminds me of the feel of "No Expectations" by the Rolling Stones. Signalled the potential for the band which would be more fully ... Read More:

This is a bloody disappointing album. I bought this thinking it was going to capture the full on raw power of AC/DC but it totally fails.
The biggest problem is that unlike the majority of live albums that are edited to flow like a proper gig, this mess sees each track fade in and out so that the energy and excitement one expects never materialises. It simply fails to gel at all and just becomes totally boring. Why was this done? It is for radio idiot DJ's who are incapable of cueing up a track? Oh yes, and Brian Johnson can't sing either. A truly horrible experience. Stick to "If You Want Blood...".

Born in 1940's Seattle, Jimi Hendrix would go on to be the ultimate guitar Legend in both his native America and more crucially here in the UK. In the mid sixties, Eric Clapton was God having given the blues sound a complete overhaul, however in the late sixties Clapton was revealed to be just a mere prophet for Hendrix had arrived to save us all.
It's well documented that Hendrix had a gift for creating noises from his guitar that only he could create, this much is true, problem is he raised the bar to a level which has not even been sniffed at since the time of his tragic death in 1970, which certainly has left a big hole on mankind's ability to create.
Despite Hendrix's ability and obvious talent, it was only in the last 5 years of his life ... Read More:

Its probably fair to say that this is the one album that sits in just about every self respecting rock fans collection, whether they, like me, were knocking about on its original release, or for younger enthusiasts have bought it for its historical value.
This mk2 version of Purple, benefiting from the addition of Ian Gillan's wonderful vocal range (my daughter calls him 'the voice') and Roger Glover's excellent bass and knowledge of musical arrangements, kicked off with an album that not only became the first example of genuine 'hard rock', but unlike some other bands also allowed the depth of their music to shine through.
While not wishing to be critical of the albums contents, how can you knock the likes of 'child in time', 'hard lovin' man', 'speed king' etc or ... Read More:

What strikes me is how fresh this album still sounds after over 25 years. Fast, furious and different, I was only 7 when this came out, so can only imagine just how much this must've rocked the Bay Area scene in San Francisco. It does wear it's influences on it's sleeve, but Metallica were still teenagers when they recorded it (imagine any band today managing the same feat?) and you cannot help but be swept away by the enthusiasm behind the record. It pumps out of every one of James Hetfield's riffs, Kirk's solos (yes Megadeth fans, Kirk's, Dave may still be pissed off and claim Hammet stole all his solos, but c'mon, how much can you memorise without sounding imitation - Kirk shows true original talent) and Lars' drums (although he does sound a bitty amateur on this record). The one tracks ... Read More:

As stated in Maiden's own release info this album is to introduce their new young (U25) fans (mainly from India / Far East) to their older music. Most of these fans have been hooked on the newer material so this album is realesed to coincide with the Back in Time tour and create new interets in the 80's music. If your an older fan who has all the old albums then don't bother (unless you want the art work). If your a newer fan and don't have the old albums this a great place to start.

Before this i had a few songs by disturbed so i decided to buy this because it had Down With The Sickness and the album was brilliant every track is raw and heavy and loud. In My opinion i dont consider Disturbed Nu-Metal because they are much more than that they have anger, power, aggressiveness and passion about the music they make. Their is something for every metalhead on this album, this album doesnt contain solos but its still raw and heavy. A must buy awesome debut by disturbed. DISTURBED ROCK!!!!!
