I was a bit disappointed with the album after having read all the glowing reviews on Amazon. The lyrics are good and the production is interesting but apart from William's blood and I'm crying the melodies are frankly boring.

This album is brilliant! i have always liked Anastacia and have the other albums she has done, but never really considered myself a true fan! However this is an exceptional album and lots of personal meaning in her lyrics and shows a slightly softer side to her voice at times! Check out tracks 4 6 and 10 as major standouts. Just love this!

I'd have to agree with the more negative reviews here. Just the inclusion of Basshunter's "Now You're Gone", has blown any credibility of the Annual series all by itself. I think maybe The Annual has had its day.

Let me start by saying that I have never been a fan of any form of dance music: in any way whatsoever!
I saw these guys perform Granite live on Jools Holland, and they blew me away though. I genuinely believed them to be a guitar driven rock band: so to discover that they are D&B is quite a suprise.
That said, I bought this album to find out how good their other stuff was, and it did not disappoint! Thunderous guitar riffs fused with heavy electronica, and synth fed voices create a wall of sound against a backdrop of Metallica style drums.
I invested in their first album "Hold Your Colour" too: and even though this is very much a D&B album, you can clearly discern the direction that their music is going in.
Stand out tracks for me on "In Silico" are: ... Read More:

A cracking modern pop album that doesn't take itself too seriously or try to be anything it isn't - no po-faced deep and meaningful "message" here and all the better for it. Think somewhere between a Roxette that isn't trying so hard to be cool and a grown-up high-school musical without the schmaltz and you're about there. Don't think you don't like pop because you can't stand the bubblegum warbling that infests the charts - this is how it should be done.

Much of the time bands who have gone into hibernation return with albums which are mere shadows of their previous work. This album is the complete opposite and successfully captures the eerie tones which occupy many of their best songs. I simply cannot pick a favourite from an album which oozes style.

For all those who loved Felt Mountain and were horrified at Goldfrapp's complete departure from it with 'Black Cherry' (well, I was horrified, anyway!), you're sure to enjoy this album.
I guess it's unreasonable to expect any band to keep churning out the same material - except for Status Quo who got away with it for years, how I do not know. So I would describe 'Seventh Tree' as a beautiful return to Goldfrapp's original album, but with a slight difference. It is not as dark as Felt Mountain can be in places, but every bit as deep. I would also say it's the most gentle work Goldfrapp has produced.
In short, if you loved Felt Mountain (and loathed Black Cherry) you will love this album.

This deliciously packaged fourth album from the fantastic TV On The Radio is a real gem. Following on from their 2006 album Return to Cookie Mountain, the album has a distinctly different feel. Where RtCM played with expansive sounds and interesting rhythms, 'Dear Science' has a more refined and cleaner sound. Don't worry, their delightful percussion is still there, just less pronounced, making room for a large use of sax and brass, and as such the tracks on Dear Science have a fuller sound when compared to their previous album.
I was already slightly familiar with 'Golden Age' having heard it on the radio a few times, and I'd heard Family Tree once, but these songs are only the tip of the iceberg when you listen to the whole album. It begins with the fantastic 'Halfway Home', a merciless ... Read More:
