In the beginning the way into Dylan was via Peter Paul & Mary, the Turtles, the Byrds and Johnny Cash.
And commercially electric Dylan was just right.
This CD is just a sampler and introduction to the Art of Dylan. If you want more you get the original albums on CD.All but one have been on catalog since CDs began.
My favorite Dylan song is Can you please crawl out your window.
Thus this double CD would only be of interest if there was a booklet with it and its by no means the only one of its kind as the most recent-titled DYLAN and in 3 different editions -comes with a picture book.
Today's Dylan collector needs plenty of money and plenty of room

Listening to Sandy Denny's voice makes you realise how much the music industry short-changes us these days. Sublime and unaffected, young yet embedded with wisdom, it sweeps you away like none of today's wannabes ever will. 'Sandy' also benefits from first class arrangements, production and musicianship, with Richard Thompson and Dave Swarbrick adding valuable guitar and violin respectively. Sneaky Pete contributes some of his best pedal steel playing too, lending a country tinge to some of the tracks. By and large, this is folk at the edge of rock. 'It'll Take A Long Time' is an expansive, epic opening, while Denny's take on 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time' is one of the best Dylan covers you'll hear.
There are many breathtaking passages, ... Read More:

Mainly because it's the most heartfelt and least self-consciously quirky. I thought Damaged was the most boring thing ever; I didn't even get through the whole of it, so I was not at all optimistic about its successor. How many Lambchop albums could really be considered classic? Only Nixon and Is A Woman. This album may lack the same kind of stand-outs as those two albums, but I found myself impossibly moved by these tracks. I listened to a promo copy, I don't know if the actual album has a lyric booklet, and I don't know what half the words are, but it's the moods of the pieces more than anything . . . a powerful melancholy that Wagner has only occasionally tapped before (specifically on the Is A Woman album). This album is NOT BORING. Don't believe ... Read More:

No one should need reminding that Roy Orbison possessed the ultimate voice in conveying paranoia, tortured emotions and fatalism in his songs so, at first sight, it is surprising that yet another compilation is needed.
However, take another look. This release contains eleven of his sixteen essential Monument hits. Any album containing such treasures as Only The Lonely, Falling, It's Over, Blue Angel, Pretty Woman and Cryin' must rate as a 5* star album on the strength of those tracks alone.
However, unlike many other compilation albums, this release has only one of his Sun recordings which is of no consequence since he was scarcely a rock 'n' roller anyway! Instead, the CD has three magical tracks from his last and critically underrated ... Read More:

Let me begin my saying that such a low price for 101 songs is great value in any case, but when around 95 of the songs are brilliant, it's bargain basement stuff.
This is a wonderful collection of country music hits. It is fair to say that the majority of tracks here are from the golden age of country music, but interspersed throughout the album are a few catchy modern tracks that make the collection beautifully balanced, allowing for a smoother, less overwhelming experience for the modern listener. Many of the tracks are instantly recognisable, with all the massive hits there, "The Gambler", "9 to 5", "Always on my Mind", "Ring of Fire" to name a few. But there are also a few hidden gems here, melodically and lyrically, that aren't nearly as well known, ... Read More:

Although I'm not a Garth Brooks fan at all, I must admit that he
has had a string of wonderful hits that are all on this double CD
+ the "gift" of a DVD where all these hits can be seen. Besides,
the price of this "triple disc" offer is incredible. So much for
so little!

Not being an expert on country music or on Johnny Cash, I must say this album is moving and very very suggestive; with simple but clever arrangements, beautiful songs and amazing vocal...
Obviously more than merely touched by age and various ailments, mr. Johnny Cash performes with great passion and suggests wisdom no young singer can convey (or even come close to conveying)...

We have loved John Denver's music since we were kids. Hearing them in this CD shows us that he was the BEST. We have so many memories of the different things the songs meant to us, he gave us a lot of happiness. We will always play his music & we know it will live on long after we are gone.
