Whilst watching the film, I always thought that Johny Cash sang the OST, In fact it was Joaquin Phoenix. Ring of Fire and Walk the Line are classics , and are enhanced by Phoenix's rendition. Likewise, Reese Witherspoon's rendition of June Carter is equally impressive.

There is nothing I can add to what has been said before.
I will admit that while I listened to radio 2 in the 70's-thanks mum & dad!- before I moved towards Joy Division & The Banshees I listened to your choice of music and I am extremely grateful for it.
"Daylight Katy" and "Sundown" are songs that stick with me now in middle-age as when I was young.
Bob Dylan was an icon for a generation but Mr Lightfoot caught my imagination when I was a nipper-listen to "If You Could Read My Mind" and tell me that Dylan wrote anything better and I would beg to differ....

What the hell is the amazon reviewer listening to - Avalanche aimless? Absolute tosh and nonsense. Great song. The Oasis cover? Redundant. Always skip past it. The rest? absolute bloody genius. Record companies? God bless the internet.

This compilation covers all the 13 A side singles & 7 of their B sides during or after their period. The music is a mix of Country, Rhythm & Blues & Rock & Roll with a dash of Hard Rock thrown it & the Country Funk "Down On The Corner". The reason I'm giving this 3 stars is the fact that I'm not that into Country Music which nearly half the selection sounds like on here. My other gripe is that not all the B sides are here. Then again this got released on vinyl in 1976. On the other hand with CD technology (80 mins) they could of re-released it to include all the B sides. If you are curious about this band (like I was) I recommend this as a starting point. If you are a Countryish fan you can add to more stars to mine.

martha wainwright proves on this album that despite all of her vaunted background she is a true original. the songs show great craft, especially BMFA which is perfectly written. and her voice is a wonder. it has the flexibility of mary margaret o'hara's voice and the emotional vastness of jane siberry but is also something completely hers. its really exhilirating the way it can just take off in the middle of a song and go wherever it likes yet still make complete musical sense.

for many years i've been grieving the fact that mary margaret o'hara hasn't been making music but with this album the gap is filled. but she isn't a copycat. like any true talent this musical vision is completely martha's own. and it seems to have sprung complete ... Read More:

When I bought this album, I have to admit that although I am a long time Bon-Jovi fan, I was getting a little bored with the usual format... Some of the songs in previous albums had been too easy to skip.
This album is a bit of a departure from the norm... A bit like 'This Left..', and I have to say that I like it.
The country sound suites Jon's voice well and some of the songs have lovely lyrics.

Only one down point - Someone please take the voice distorter away from Richie???! Please? It's getting a little old.

This is an absolutely essential purchase for anyone that calls themselves a fan of Bob Dylan. Be really smart though, and wait till you can get it for under a tenner, like I did. Not that it's not worth full price - it is; but you can feel even more smug when you've got it for a bargain price.

Enough of my smugness! What about the product?

This collection of rare Dylan recordings (outtakes, live recordings and such) have been packaged on 3 CDs, and ordered more or less chronologically. Before you jump in and buy, have a look at 'The Essential Johnny Cash' as the track listing on this 2002 'Man In Black: TVBO' collection is more similar to that CD than it is to the CD of the title 'Man In Black: TVBO' issued in 2001 (probably the U.S. version).

This 2002 'Man In Black: TVBO' one has four more tracks than 'Essential', and differs towards the end between the two 'Man In Black: TVBO' collections. This latter part is not such a problem in my view as the earlier stuff is more essential listening.

Unfortunately, this UK version of 'Man In Black: TVBO' from 2002 has the bleeped version of A Boy Named Sue, as detailed in 'The Essential Johnny Cash' reviews.

I liked this album a lot even though many of the tracks are a bit too fast and loud compared to music I usually listen to.But I've been listening to it for a couple of months now so it's definitely got quality.
