Amazing Album, Simon Cowell has predicted while she was in American idol after she sung her song Alone which is still on youtube that she will outsell the American idol Winners includes Kelly Clarkson and he right 3 Years later this year he announced it on Idol Give Back 2008. Well Done Carrie

Karma ? Yin and Yang ? Synchronicity ? Who Know's.

What I do know for sure, however, is that having spent
a couple of painfully wasted hours listening to Santogold's execrable
debut album I was very ready for some honest musical sustenance.

I found it here In Ryan Bingham's most recent album 'Mescalito'.

Comparisons abound but try to put them to one side.
Let's listen to Mr Bingham on his own evident merits.

Somehow honesty and authenticity shines through in all
music of worth and this is indeed a very worthy little album.

The grit and gravel in our hero's voice serves his material well.

A great review (as always) from Mark Barry but I have to disagree with the comments regarding DVD Audio. I would guess a large proportion of people whom these types of reissues are aimed at DO have the ability to play high res formats such as DVD-A and SACD. I'm one of those people and i'm pleased that a major label still thinks it's viable to issue archive releases in this format. The standard CD may be good (and it certainly is) but the high resolution version on the DVD-A is absolutely spectacular. I have never heard stereo imaging so accurate and the clarity of each instrument is possibly the best I have experienced on ANY format. This flies in the face of current mastering trends where everything is made artificially loud, destroying all musicality. ... Read More:

I dont know off the top of my head where I heard of Brandi Carlile but I can tell you i dont regret it for a minute. After a few weeks of frustatingly listening to her off YouTube I bought this album and her self-titled album.

This album combines folk, rock, country and soul in one amazing package. Highlights for me are the opening track "Late Morning Lullaby", "Turpentine" which Carlile wrote as a teenager, "Have You Ever" and "The Story", the last two written by Brandi's band mate Phil Hanseroth who plays and sings harmonies on most tracks and forms Brandi's touring band along with his brother Tim (who co-wrote a few on the album too). "Josephine" is a rootsy, old style folk tune with perfect 3-part harmony and simple guitar picking.

I bought this album when it came out, on vinyl. Neil Young had been only partly known to me - i tended to think "acoustic" and "folky", which were not the kind of words i was into at that age. John Peel said that "nothing before had prepared him for the magnificence of Zuma" or words to that effect. As a keen JP listener and admirer, i thought I'd give it a go. Fabulous! It was as rock-y and discordant in places as you could wish. The guitaring was a revelation. Great songs, love-it-or-hate-it voice/singing - which i did love. The acoustic numbers and gentler tracks were great songs too, and perfect to sing when you were having a drink with your mates. Has much has i Like Dolly Parton, I do wonder how many more times are her managers going to release her Greatest Hits & Best Of Albums.
I think she should come back and do something New!!

I brought Dolly Partons Greatest Hits back in 1999 The Album i have is a 2x Disc version With the same songs and same listings in the exact same track listing order has these 2 seperate Albums!! Why it has been Re-released has two seperate Volumes is beyond me, Especially when the version i have is still avalible to buy.

I have given this a 4 Star if it was a New greatest hits it would have got a 5 Star, However it isn't. And plus it's not Dolly's thought i blame the record company!!! :-)

I stumbled across Carrie Underwood when I watched American Idol 2007 singing So Small. Since then I have been a listener. Her voice is amazing, makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up! The top song on Carnival Ride has to be Just a Dream. She sings the song with spot on emotion. There aren't many artists who can sing with such depth.
Buy this album and her debut (Some Hearts), you will not be disappointed!

Just a shame not touring the UK!

This is just the best release ever for Roy Orbison fans young and old. 4 great CDs spanning his whole career including previously unreleased tracks. Great packaging too. A real collector's item. A Christmas gift must for all music lovers.
