I bought this CD and "Officium" some time ago and still marvel at the way the music transports me to another level! My particular favourite is the Tallis track, "O Lord in Thee is all my trust" - it is incredibly haunting and evocative, with the plaintive saxophone melody soaring away, tearing at your soul, and yet so uplifting. Garbarek and the Hilliard Ensemble really work well together, one complementing the other. I think you either love their musical expressions in these CDs or hate them - there is no in between!

My Baby Einstein Album: +DVD

With twins, the day can be hard sometimes, but one thing we can rely on to help calm them when they get over excited or upset is Baby Einstein(BE).
We have a number of DVDs and now CDs, this being the latest to the collection. When times get difficult the DVD goes on and there is an instant calming reaction. The twins both smile at various clips and characters. However we don't like to leave the TV on too long and this is where the CDs help. Music does help the day go by and the twins both like it. I prefer the classical music to the nursery rhymes playing or pop music in the background. The music is not bad but, I was looking for a CD with music sang only by children. This CD is also sung by adults and I did not like that. If you are looking for children CDs, I would not recommend this CD. Also, this is not a suitable CD for those who want to find Christmas music to teach to foreign children. Some of these songs are far too difficult for foreign children under eight years old to learn.

I bought this CD based on the rave reviews it had received and because there was such a long list of songs. However the style of the music is not quite what i was expecting. I am no music buff but the style of the singing is more Irish folk/light opera music than jolly children's music. The words of some songs are not very clear and hard to sing along to. Also, the music sounds quite samey due to the style of the two singers. If you are a music pro this might be for you but if, like me, you wanted something simple and jolly to entertain your child and sing along to this is not the right CD.
