With its incessant piano hook and heart-felt lyrics, "Love Song" caught my attention immediately as one of the most impressive debut singles I've heard on pop radio. So is it true with the rest of "Little Voice" which demonstrates that Sara Bareilles has an incredibly bright future ahead as a compelling chanteuse of original piano-based pop rock music (I'd like to think of her as someone with the melodic richness of a Sarah McLaughlin coupled with the sarcastic, hip lyrics and excellent musical chord writing of a Randy Newman.). Her stylistic influences range all over the map, from the fusion jazz of "Vegas" to the soft rock pop of "Love Song". Lyrically and musically, her most impressive songs include the short, but quite delightful, "Fairytale" ... Read More:

Not heard the VHS Video in a while but this is so much better! Sound quality not the best on a DVD but a vast improvement on VHS. More songs, about 20 mins extra and Bono hasn't yet learned his stage craft. The Edge looks very un-rockstar as does Adam with his curly hair, Larry looks like he's still in (primary) school and Bono has the most ridiculuous hairdo (even by his standards).
I could have done without Surrender & Seconds but the rest of the songs are storming, from Out of Control through to 40. This is a very loud DVD, so turn it up and destroy the neighbourhood! U2 when they were little!

Listening to the Mammas and the Papas was a real nostalgia trip but how I hate CD's with tracks that fade out before they finish, it totally spoils the experience. I have a vision of a man behind the stage at a live performance turning a big volume control down leaving the group playing and singing silently to a bemused audience. Had the tracks all been full length I would have given this CD 4 stars.

Coming across this album was a joy.Having read the postive reviews in music scribes,I decicded to give it a go.Man,it hits you like a sucker punch.Wheeled in by the opening piano chords to "Fake Empire" all the way through to the hymen-like "Gospel" this is an album of serious substance.Songs like "Brainy"a tale of stalker("You know I keep your fingerprints in a pink folder in the middle of my table") and "Apartment Story"("Oh we're so disarming darling, everything we did believe
is diving diving diving diving off the balcony") stand out. This band has succeeded in not only writing great sons, but achieving a groove to them that fits Joy Division in their peak. The relentless drum beats ,coupled with the drilling bass lines make these songs tight. There are no sloppy half ... I have owned this CD for more than 3 years and it is still the best Buble has ever done. I saw him sing most of the tracks at Ronnie Scotts and even now my friends accompanying me that night still talk fondly of the occasion. At this bargain price (feb 2008) you cannot afford to be without it. Everyone will ask you who is singing it. It is just wonderful music. All the songs are beautifully arranged and exceptionally well sung. I listen to it again and again without tiring of it.

`Carried to Dust` is Calexico's most mature work to date, arguably the best synthesis of their frontier atmospherics and Latin-inflected country songwriting. The follow-up to 2005's much-dismissed `Garden Ruin', `Carried to Dust' makes the `South-Western noir' tag stick better than any other Calexico album. It's a record of great dusky beauty, varied and unusual musicianship and haunting songs. More understated than their aknowledged masterpiece `Feast of Wire`, `Carried to Dust' may pass that benchmark in time with its flickering, insidious quality. Cinematic but subtle, whispery yet substantial, there are fewer straight-out brooding Enio Morricone instrumentals, only one blatant Tex-Mex jam. The album is largely song-orientated but, unlike Garden Ruin, deftly impressionistic, with ... Read More:

I must admit, I'm not exactly a fan or Tom Jones, but my sister already has this album and when I listened to it I just had to buy it. The man has an awesome voice and every track on this album is totally different. A good one to add to your collection!
