I'll get straight to the point here: very, very boring and samey. Ordinary to the max. Die-hard JJ lovers will probably lap it up, but others - myself included - who expected something a little more hype-worthy and out-of-the-ordinary, will be left with a kind of blank "Oh, so that's it" expression on their faces if they didn't pay for it, and a sour taste in their mouths if they did. Try before you buy.

This one took quite a few listenings before I began to realise the strength of some of the lyrics and the emotional power of just about every track.
Some don't like the strong presence of female vocals - personally I love this especially on 'Alexandra Leaving' and 'Here it is'.
I love this album and think others who know Cohen's work will too - and hopefully, many others who don't know his work will hereby get to know it.

I am just about to order this album from Amazon. I give it 5 stars since it will likely have most of the songs that I love and maybe a few new ones. I listen to his music almost daily. I have listened to Russell's voice mature over the years, and I can say for sure that it is getting even better. The Voice is my personal favorite where he diplays his incredible tenor voice. Some say he can't sing opera. I totally disagree. His youthful, clear sound is amazing as he seems to reach incredible heights with ease. Not a well seasoned Povarotti or Mario Lanza, but different and refreshing.
My other favorite is Amore Musica. Here, you can tell that his voice has matured. But he can still hit the high C's. The choice of songs is fantastic, ... Read More:

Believe me, it's usually the other way round. Usually I have nothing but praise for the man and his show that introduce me to so many fantastic artists. But in the case of this album, seeing Martha Wainwright perform on that show before purchasing `I Know You're Married, but I've Got Feelings Too' has ruined me, because if I hadn't seen her perform live I would have been blissfully unaware that in the right form this collection of songs presents an absolutely incredible portrait of a uniquely charismatic singer/song-writer. But not when they're delivered with decidedly less passion on an over-produced album that is not a proper showcase for these beautifully written songs and the tortured/passionate voice that always performs to perfect spine-tingling ... i dont think the content overall needs to be reviewed, its all classic abba and can all be found elsewhere EXCEPT for I AM THE CITY, this track is still ,as far as i know, not available anywhere else except on this album,(im not counting the COMPLETE STUDIO RECORDINGS box set,the purchase of which may necessitate a small mortgage) and i cant believe no other review has mentioned this. If you@re a fan , its the main reason to buy this album, and if your collecting all abba's recordings,it makes this essential. oh, and if you havent heard it the track is great, not one of their moving and meaningful ones but its fun, hypnotic and sparkly,;incredible arrangement and production, -i know thats kind of a given for abba- but - much more so than, for example something ... Three words to describe this, awful, awful and awful, it deserved to be the flop it was. Britney may have made a couple of decent pop songs a few years back, but her days are over, she now looks hackneyed and cliched, she'll be remembered far more for her personal problems, than her music

This has managed to take TT's melancholic style and lyrics and wrap them up in a more layered and upbeat musical style. Definitely his best album so far! Seen him in concert and hopefully this will mean bigger venues and maybe he can lighten up a bit. Yes Teddy you are good so don't be so serious.

The Beatles. A band that are so familiar to everyone in the western world that it's easily possible to live 25-30 years without hearing one of their albums from start to finish. You just hear it everywhere. But that's just the thing; you always hear the same songs - essentially, the ones from the Red and Blue albums.
I remember being captivated at a very young age by the otherworldly songs on the Blue Album - Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds probably contributed to my later interest in psychedelic substances - and I began to appreciate the quality of songwriting on the Red Album, rather than the actual songs themselves when I started learning to play guitar at 16. And while I would readily admit that some of the Beatles' songs were truly amazing, I was never inspired to buy ... Read More:
