This is a great record. Packed with interesting songs that bring a smile to your face. Smart progressions and synths abound playfully.
Lovers in Japan in particular is an absolute triumph. Up there with the best songs of the decade, it seems to capture the revolutionary spirit that the album's artwork evokes. It's a track that makes you recognize truly how wonderful it is to be alive...

Duffy is probably the best R&B singer to come from these shores in a long long time. This album is phenomenal. Every track seems to accentuates her vocal range. The musicians supporting her are also very worthy of recognition. I particularly like the unique drum tuning on Mercy and the 60's keyboard playing. The tracks themselves vary but are all interesting: but I doubt that anyone could render them as well as she does. This album is one of the best that I have heard for a long time. A definite buy recommendation.

Fleet Foxes describe their sound on their My Space page as "Baroque harmonic pop jams" which on listening to their album strikes me as spot on. And who would know better than them they anyway? I've also seen them described as like The Beach Boys if they were a folk band which is also a pretty good description. I think they sound like The Polyphonic Spree if they had decided to do with voices what My Bloody Valentine did with guitars.
All of which descriptive overload leads me to compare them to various contemporary bands -Midlake, The Besnard Lakes, Arcade Fire , Mercury Rev and The Flaming Lips though in truth none of them comes as close as I'd like so I don't know why I bothered. Think Crosby Stills And Nash trying to copy The Cocteau ... Read More:

I'm going to ruin the end of this cd for everybody without a care in the world... The last track is called ''Home Before dark''. There I did it. Oh no he didn't, oh yes he did.

I salivated at the prospect of Sigur Ros' latest offering as I couldn't get enough of them after the brilliant last CD/DVD, Heima. Sigur Ros are one of the few truly remarkable bands out there and their music is ethereal, beautiful, poignant and at times completely odd. While there are some wonderful pieces of music here-in, I don't think the album works as well as their previous albums. I'm just not sure Gobbledigook works for me but thereafter and as the album progresses, they claim you. I can understand the slight change in their work and fair play to the band, they are continuing to evolve and certainly are more accessible but I feel that this is slightly detrimental to the ethos of Sigur Ros. We love them because they are so out there on their own, ... Read More:

This is not his best, but it's not as bad as some make out. There are a couple of tracks, God being the main one , that I just don't get. However in 21 tracks there will be a couple of mis hits.I saw the tour for this album and to be frank, it sounded much better live.Enjoyable, but far from his best

Pacific Ocean Blue is without doubt the most honest, powerful and most staggeringly beautiful album I have ever had the pleasure to hear. I challege anyone not to be moved to tears by Dennys voice on "thoughts of you" or indeed filled with hope and joy in the middle eight section of "The River". He was every bit the composer Brian is and could easily hold his own next to the angelic voice of his late brother Carl.
If Denny had still been alive today I'm sure he would have been moved himself to see that the tunes and words he gave life to all those years ago are finally getting the recognition they deserve.

Good for a throw on a summers day, it has a nice affect against the sun. A bit small so you won't get much distance on it, better used in weather with a bit of a breeze in the air.

The tracks that stand out as 'chilled' music are great!
Not enough of them. Many fillers, some i hadn't heard before, and for good reason, they either were not 'chilled' music or/and not easy to listen to at all. This really should be 2 discs, and be done with the unknown and unchilled.
