This has to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time, and for me AC/DC`s second best after the previous "Powerage".The production on this is excellent, recently purchased this on cd as my vinyl copy is on its last legs.Great to hear it again, where do you start, all great tunes but stand out for me are,Highway to hell, walk all over you,If you want blood and touch to much.
I was lucky enough to see this tour and went two nights running at Manchester Apollo, awesome.Have a great memory of being at the Led Zep Knebworth gig in 79 and they played this album in full over the pa system.
Of course this was Bon Scott`s last album and he was/is sadly missed. After this album came their biggest selling album"Back in Black", another great ... Read More:

One of the most overrated albums ever. Why G n R were ever feted beats me. They were nothing special, just one of a long line of dire hair metal acts from Sunset Strip. G n R only differed in that they tended to rip off Aerosmith rather than Van Halen. Slash is a competent enough guitar player but he's added nothing to the canon of axemanship but Axl Rose has a voice that strips paint. Even if you allow for the hits as being half OK the other tracks are dismal, plodding sub Stones riffage.
I have a hell of a history with these Use Your Illusion albums, indeed with Guns N' Roses in general. "Appetite for Destruction" was the first `metal' album I ever heard, and it changed my life immediately. I actually first heard it while on stage in a school play. It's a strange story, and probably more interesting if I leave it at that. I actually heard it at a time when I didn't think there was any music I liked. As soon as I heard it, I knew that it was what I had been looking for.
Moving onto the Use Your Illusion albums, well I don't think there is any record I have heard more times than these. I've owned them on vinyl, tape and CD. There was one two week holiday when I went to Scotland with my parents, ... Read More:

Both are strong albums, but where as Vol.1 is in your face Hard Rock/Metal , this is more experimental, dare I say, progressive!
Estranged, Locomotive, Civil War are all GREAT, lengthy epics, with complex arrangements and musicianship.
A really strong, (still) modern sounding Rock album.

I found this album in my dad's collection and decided to whack it on my ipod. I'd heard good things about them from other people at school and they weren't lying.
The band are awesome. Great vocals and really good guitar. I love the bass and i think John Bonham is a brilliant drummer (Listen to Moby Dick & Stairway to Heaven). Personally i think Keith Moon is better.
There are loads of great tracks on this album. Everyone will recognise whole lotta love from a certain tv programme!! There's also 'What is and what should never be', Moby Dick, Heartbreaker ..... there isnt really a weak song.
A great album, but nothing compares to The Who. Defo 5/5. It would be in my top ten

No matter how often I listen to this album, it never ceases to blow me away. It is by far the best record the band have done, and is one of my favourite albums ever. Each song fizzes with energy, and it never lets up. The raw sound is exactly what AC/DC are about, the whole album sounds as if it's just been recorded live. Every song on this album is a classic.

Along with Kind of Blue (Miles Davis), Follow the Reaper (Children of Bodom), and Clapton's CD with the Bluesbreakers, this is the best album ever. You should already own this. Seriously. The songs are all completely different, not a single filler track!
