A review here states something about listening to this more than once. Well, and no apology here, no thanks. I caught this in a local store and couldn't believe what a load of rubbish this is. Its basic stupid outdated heavy rock that wouldn't have got signed to a label if it was the first attempt at making music. I commented to the guy filling the shelves how bad it was and his comment was 'think yourself lucky you don't have to listen to it all day'. This is awful, dreadful, pathetic and just darned lousy. Go ahead, buy it. You'll certainly regret spending your hard earned cash on something this poor.

AC/DC bounce back with an album full of fun and inspiration. Featuring their most catchy songs since the early 80's, the band have gone for hooks and melodies aplenty, apparently encouraged by producer Brendan O'Brien, who has also coaxed a more soulful, rather less strained performance from a very impressive Brian Johnson. Johnson, aged 60 when Black Ice was recorded, rolls back the years with a voice which whilst weathered, sounds strong and of more texture than for many a year. He sounds powerful and shrill in the style of his 80's heyday on tunes like Big Jack and Spoilin' For A Fight, adds his traditional gritty edge to superb, bluesy lines on Decibel, and just sounds altogether fantastic on the anthemic Rock 'n' Roll Train and Money Made.

I'm not much given to hyperbole and "ace" is not a word I've used much since I was 14, twenty years ago, but then I haven't enjoyed an album this much since 1988 either. Certainly not one by Metallica. Death Magnetic, however, is just...ace.

I have just got the box set recently, and have been enjoying it greatly. Not just that, my three daughters aged 9, 6 and 2 are great fans, and want to listen to it all the time in the car. And the two-year-old even says 'Rock' once she hears the first few bars of 'We will rock you'. Just goes on to show that Queen truly made ageless music, which still scores far above most contemporary music.

Amazingly good album, every track is strong, no filler, very inspired, if you're new to AC/DC start here along with Highway To Hell.

First off I'm 14 and have all the GN'R albums (including Spag Incident, ChiDem and Unplugged 1993 (which you will not find, anywhere).
Just don't bother buying this, I haven't but know all the songs and come on! Mr Brownstone! Rocket Queen! Nightrain! You gotta have Nightrain, Don't Damn Me, Locomotive, Estranged, Reckless Life, Pretty Tied Up, in fact just go out and buy Appetite and Lies, if you like them get the UYI double set, if Slash, Axl and Duff all tried to stop it being released then you know it's an embarrassment.
It is good Ain't It Fun made it though, so Slashy haha.

I brought this album in special edition and i must say it's the best slipknot album yet. songs like: sulphur,dead memories,butchers hook and psychosocial are the best to listen to and backed up by so many other cool tracks this album is a rare treat and the best album of 2008.

This has to be one of the greatest rock albums of all time, and for me AC/DC`s second best after the previous "Powerage".The production on this is excellent, recently purchased this on cd as my vinyl copy is on its last legs.Great to hear it again, where do you start,all great tunes but stand out for me are,Highway to hell,walk all over you,If you want blood and touch to much.
I was lucky enough to see this tour and went two nights running at Manchester Apollo,awesome.Have a great memory of being at the Led Zep Knebworth gig in 79 and they played this album in full over the pa system.
Of course this was Bon Scott`s last album and he was/is sadly missed.After this album came their biggest selling album"Back in Black", another great solid record but for me the Bon Scott era was ... Read More:

Queen are the most overrated band ever. This collection does contain the odd decent song but most songs here are trivial, soul-less, hollow and very very empty. The world's most pointless band!
