I have Amazon to thank for bringing Elbow to my attention many years ago. I bought some CD or other and they did their cheeky "if you like that, you might like this ..." and recommended Elbow's debut album Asleep in the Back. I did something I have never done before or since and bought the CD without hearing a note just because I liked their name. And I loved the CD. I then bought Cast of Thousands - Grace Under Pressure is sublime - and Leaders of the Free World and really enjoyed both. Seldom Seen Kid is different though. It is by far their finest work yet and easily the best album I've heard this year. The lyrics and Guy Garvey's voice are wonderful. Grounds for Divorce and One Day Like This are so good they give you shivers but Mirrorball ... Read More:

This is an outstanding album from a true bluesman. Major record company involvement has not dented his ability to produce searing blues with a wonderful sincerity and his usual humility. Delta style blues at its best.

I first heard Duffy on a long car journey on a friend's mixtape, the track was Rockferry. My friend skipped the track in impatient disgust, which drove me mad! I'm usually into my alternative stuff but I like a bit of everything in my collection, so I have something to listen to for every mood. I love this album because it's feminine, heartfelt, sweet and singable. I'm not mad on the last three tracks but they're by no means awful, I just prefer the others. I feel I can relate to Duffy in all her strengths and weaknesses. Some have compared her unfavourably to Amy Winehouse, who I also like, but Duffy doesn't have the selfish, bitchy airs and is lovely to listen to when you have some alone-time.

I loved Cold Play's two first albums, I feel like I could get absorbed in them and never skip a track.
I have listened to this new album about 10 times and I just don't feel the same way about this album. When listening to this album I honestly say I enjoy about 3 of the songs, the rest well I really don't.

As a Verve fan I've listened to the album over & over again on my work PC & in my Car and I rate it highly!
Stand out songs for me are 'Numbness', 'Noise Epic' & my personal favourite 'Columbo'.
Great Album.....Buy it!

What a great album! By far and away their best, before they succumbed to Coldplay-type anthems on Seldom Seen Kid. Every track a winner, but "Very best" is well titled. Enjoy! Anyone that can get Stockport Supporters Club into the lyrics of a ballad is alright by me!!

I bought this album off the back of a couple of songs I'd heard here and there. For maybe the first few listens I was thinking that actually those few songs I'd heard were the only really excellent tracks on there - the rest being ok, but nothing special.
Listen on tho!
Really worth it - some bits are growers, but now I am completely in love with this album!

I came to "Fleet Foxes" following a chance hearing at a second hand book and record store. Taking the plunge into unknown territory proved wonderfully rewarding, as this must easily be one of the finest albums of the past few years. Some, it appears, are aware of what is going on here in terms of derivation, but for me (and I daresay for many others) Fleet Foxes offer a fresh sound quite unlike anything else currently on the scene. The album conjures the vast sweeping imagery of a wild North American landscape filled with blue skies, snowy mountains, soaring eagles, lush greenery and fast flowing rivers - think "Jeremiah Johnson" meets tambourine-shaking man-choir backed by a battalion of acoustic guitars.
The multi-layered vocals and dreamy reverb-drenched sound ... Read More:

This is a fun, funky and successful debut from the hot UK group with the onomatopoeic name. All the songs are original material, written and composed by the fresh and fabulous duo, and it's a great pity that the album is so short.
Turn on the radio at any time of the day, and before long you're probably going to hear either of the two really big singles from this album, or both of them. The single "Shut Up and Let Me Go" recently won the MTV Video Music Award for "Best UK Video", the other hot single being "That's Not My Name". "Great DJ" is yet another single, with "Be the One" scheduled for release soon. I recently received some PepsiStuff Points to buy an MP3 download from Amazon, and I had no hesitation in picking "Shut Up and Let Me Go"
