The first time I listened to my Dark Horse download, it was with on the rubbish speakers of my lap top. I thought I had wasted my money and was disappointed big time, especially since I had just seen them at the 02. The whole album, despite the nature of some of the lyrics, sounded too sanitised and soft, not at all like NB. But then hearing it over a much better sound system, it was WOW. I haven't stopped listening to it yet. Get decent earphones for your Ipod / mp3 too.

I'm not much given to hyperbole and "ace" is not a word I've used much since I was 14, twenty years ago, but then I haven't enjoyed an album this much since 1988 either. Certainly not one by Metallica. Death Magnetic, however, is just...ace.

I once saw an interview where Chad Kroeger said he asked fans what made How You Remind Me work. People said the chorus, the catchy riffs etc. So basically that's what the man cares about which disheartens me. I bought The Long Road and I really like Someday, but on every album they make 3 or 4 singles and the rest appears to be just filler, something to pad it out to called it an album. Hopefully Nickelback realise their sell out status and make music for the right reasons, as the album title misleads.

Well, I was there at the gig in MK and it was amazing, so have been waiting AGES for this to come out, and it finally came today :)

When the DVD started up, the audio was a bit distorted, but I changed the settings and it was fine until half way through, when it went off again, but then was ok!! Will give it another run to and check settings to see that it's not a problem with the disc! Be interesting to see if anyone else's does this?!!

Well, to the content, wow....brought all the memories flooding back. We were at the bottom of the grass bank at the back, slightly to the left, so was cool to see some footage on the stage close up, and also out over the arena that we couldn't see from that far back.

I brought this album in special edition and i must say it's the best slipknot album yet. songs like: sulphur,dead memories,butchers hook and psychosocial are the best to listen to and backed up by so many other cool tracks this album is a rare treat and the best album of 2008.

With well over a hundred reviews for this album, why should I add another? There is nothing more to be said other than
1) When they next get together to get another series of 'Classic Albums - The Making Of' DVD's, this should definitely be one of them, and
2) Every 'serious' rock fan's collection should have this album, it is absolutely essential!!

Fourth outing from this not incompetent little combo finds Mr Draiman
and cohorts floundering in increasingly lame-brain territory.

Classification-junkies will doubtless debate categories and sub-categories
but what we are delivered here is simple, guitar-led, hard rock of a
wholesomely traditional kind - and nothing essentially wrong with that of course.

Predictable ? Yep. Cliched ? Yep. Hackneyed ? Yep.

The riffs are tired and well-worn. The solos fluid but uninspiring.
The vocals and harmonies unimaginative. The lyrics risible.

The twelve tracks enshrined in this new collection neither add to
or subtract from our understanding of the genre.

Their fans will not be disappointed.

Minutes To Midnight

If you are a massive fan of their old sound, of the Nu metal, then you should definitely avoid this album. If you are a music fan with an open mind then you should definitely purchase this. The sound that they have created is incredibly different. I really don't know why they changed that much. Once I like a band's sound I really don't like it when they try and reinvent themselves to change that, and that's exactly what Linkin Park have done here. I bought Meteora as my first Linkin Park album back in 2003 and I instantly loved it. The sound of the music was so unique, and to a 13 year old, pretty surprising as well. Meteora was the band's pinnacle and it is such a fantastic album. Then, after a couple of years of no activity from the band, I was highly anticipating a new album, after loving their sound. ...
