mine came in a tough black rubber casing and is fabo tastical, i actually enjoying winding it, simply the best thing to take camping !

Freeplay X-Ray LED Wind-Up & Rechargeable Torch - Translucent Blue - 7 LED cluster

After winding this torch for 2 mins it only lasted 12 mins on its low setting (only 3 LEDs working). Not what is advertised. So its is just an expensive rechargeable torch, with emergency back up.
That is OK but you dont even get the charger to charge it up with unless you have a spare USB charger lying around which I dont.
Not impressed!

Does exactly what it says and looks good too. Pleased to dispense with all those non-environmentally-friendly disposable batteries. Only slight criticism: would like a handle that's easier to hold while walking the dog - I'm afraid of dropping the torch as it's quite slippery, especially while wearing gloves.

Does exactly what it says and looks good too. Pleased to dispense with all those non-environmentally-friendly disposable batteries. Only slight criticism: would like a handle that's easier to hold while walking the dog - I'm afraid of dropping the torch as it's quite slippery, especially while wearing gloves.

Freeplay Freecharge Mobile Phone charger 12V

When you recieve this product all you get is the freeplay freecharge Dynamo. Its is small, sleek and robustly made and it needs to be!! You get no adaptors like for phones or anything with it and the end just looks like a 12V car adaptor input. So the first thing you will need to do is get all the necessary adaptors for your products. Without the adaptors you can wind it all you want and all u get is a nice green LED illuminating on the unit. There could be many reasons why freeplay didn't want to put adaptors with the unit, for one thing there would be a lot of waste and added expense including the adaptors in. Love the torch and the whole idea of not having to use batteries. Light is very bright on the higher setting and everything works fantastically well.
My only criticism is the lack of explanation on any literature about the USB connection obviously for AC charging. Also there is no charger per se on Freeplay's website. A trip to Maplins is in order. I'm surprised that accessories for what is essentially a great product are almost not mentioned on packaging or website. As a full charge is something like 6 hrs and I'll be very bored winding by then.
Hence 4 stars for seeming lack of product backup in terms of information.
