Belching Out the Devil: Global Adventures with Coca-Cola
The author offers a honest and unbiased account of a journey across the globe to find the truth behind coca-cola. The writing style is warm and entertaining packed with interesting facts which bring you to really question what else you could have with your whisky. Belching out the devil offers a clear and concise account of the sociological, economical and political problems coca-cola brings to communities when it sets up business. I will never drink coca-cola ever again, and I hope you wont either.

I really didn't like the style this book was written in. It's evangelical, repetitive and irritatingly patronising. I also hated everything being described as juicy all the time - I know it's a juice book but it got on my nerves after the tenth page. The author markets his other products in the book - the marketing is excellent and you have a huge range of products and media to choose from if you feel you need it. Personally the book was enough for me.
As for the diet it's expensive as you need a lot of fruit, supplements, a blender and a juicer but if you are planning to make a lifestyle change then it's an investment. I normally like juices but I didn't enjoy many of these recipes much, although I did get used to them. I ... Read More:

I was really impressed with the Recipe book.
I love Innocent Smoothies, though thought they were very expensive, and like many others, bought this book as a cheaper option. To make smoothies that taste good and are cheap.
I was thouroughly satisfied. I have made a few of these smoothies (without a juicer I might add) and they have blessedly tasted the same as the ones I love.
I would recommend it to anyone.
The posh ones are particularly good :)
The book was funny and a joy to read, with jokes and fun facts and even exercises to do while you make your smoothie.
Very high quality. Very impressed.

...buy this one. There are no pretty pictures, but it offers a no-frills approach to mixing cocktails. Ingredients, method, glass, garnish and alcohol units are given for each recipe. The glossary of spirits is very good and the index is the best of any cocktail book I've come across. There are other books that offer more exotic fare, but this book covers all the basics and then some.

C J J Berry was a master on winemaking. I have bought and read most books on winemaking. This is the one I always turn back to. If you have to buy one book on homewinemaking this is the one! He begins my explaining the concepts and techniques of winemaking in easy to understand terms. He also explains the science behind the process but he is never confusing or condescending. I have never come across a problems which has not been solved by his troubleshooting section and his procedures are comprehensive but easy to follow. The remainder of the book takes you through a wine making year with suggestions, recipies and leaves you confident enough to experiment successfully. All recipes are in metric, imperial and US measures. He leaves you feeling ... Read More:

Finally, I've found somebody who has told me that dieting doesn't work and actually PROVED to me that he's right! I never would have believed it but I've found the solution to my health and weight problems all in one book (or two - because I found the 7 lbs in 7 days juicing plan an absolute 'must'). This man talks little rubbish, doesn't pussy-foot around with words and makes complete and utter sense just as long as you're open to admitting it! You really cannot disagree with anything here. Whether you follow the plan itself or not, I would defy anybody who reads this book not to think twice before diving into that packet of biccies or frying up a pound of sausages - and perhaps (even hopefully??) choosing an alternative.

The ever increasing size of this book reflects the increasing interest in wine, so it now lands with an impressive thump on your desktop. Though its content doesn't always reflect who that new market is.
The authors start with a, rather meandering, description of the history and production of wine and some basic notes on tasting, appreciation and handling of wine. Some of this is very useful, most of it is very basic for someone who already knows the subject and all of it could do with some editing to make the best of their material. Some of it punctures some of the myths about wine such as how long wines should be laid down and do you really need to let wine breath. Elsewhere they perpetuate some of those myths, for example they still seem to give ... Read More:
Thirty years ago this book could not have been written. With the increasing ascendancy of the New World wine makers and in particular the influence of the Davis campus of the University of California, viticulture and oenology are now rigorous, scientific and commercially oriented professions. This is reflected in the "Oxford Companion to Wine" which has to be the most comprehensive, authoritative and accessible resource dealing with all aspects of the world of wine.
Jancis Robinson who edited this encyclopedia of wine is a highly respected wine writer and educator. She is also very well credentialled, holding the prestigious title of "Master of Wine".
The real power of this book as an information source is the very effective use ... Read More:

Any aspiring young person who wishes to join the catering profession should have a copy of this book. It is thorough, well researched, modern and expresses all the values which surround the British Culinary Arts tradition. This is a valuable edition to any ones cookery book collection. Highly recommended. (Chef Woodward, Culinary Arts Studio, University of Brighton).

I am genuinely excited about this book! When I first received it, I had a thoroughly good look through it and was especially impressed with the chefs profiles and the quality of the photographs which support the text. The many pictures and recipes demonstrate an excellent level of culinary competence. The authors have a real feeling for all things culinary and have created a set of books which should be recommended to all young and aspiring chefs. The book is written with care and diligence with detailed observations and well written explanations of the methods, which is so important when writing a culinary manual. Ken Woodward, Senior Lecturer, Culinary Arts Studio, University of Brighton.
