If you live in an area where FM & MW signals are medium or strong, this is an excellent radio. The sound is rich & clear, the presets are easily adequate, there are no fiddly extra features that you don't need, and it's a pleasure to use.
I live in an area where the signals are weak, and it's poor here. A little Sony ICF-S10MK2 can grab the waves, having a proper antenna, but the 'phones on this model, good as they sound, don't work too well as an antenna. I tried other 'phones, to no avail.
So it's brilliant, or no good, depending on where you'll use it.

When I was looking for a DAB alarm clock radio two years ago there were very few different models about. I read the reviews for the Intempo and they weren't very good, but I decided to buy one anyway. Two years on and it finally died on me - and good riddance. I've now bought a next generation Sony model that is far better. Now there's more choice you shouldn't consider buying the Intempo.

I had to return mine, as it didn't work at all using batteries and even using mains it was unreliable - sometimes cutting off for no reason.
I bought another (from a different supplier) and the same thing happened, so this one had to be returned too.
No way would I recommend this to anyone.

Just received - like the design but most of the quality of sound is very good for this size of radio. Reception on FM excellent. reception on LW also good. Going to try it on LW in France on hols

I was looking for a cheaper alternative to an mp3 player with superior sound quality, this seemed to fit the bill so I bought it on impulse. It is even better than I expected due to its sleek style and excelent sound quality. Definatley recommended.
Overall, I'm very pleased with mine. The sound quality is remarkably good, the digital radio tuning is much less fiddly than a dial, and the overall package is neat and compact.
However, it's let down by the control buttons. The radio tuning buttons double as CD buttons, which is fine in principle, but these are a little small and a little stiff. I'm sure it wouldn't have cost much more to make them a little bigger and easier to use ... and while they are at it, the LCD display could have been bigger and more detailed.
The most annoying thing, though, is the smallest: the switch which selects between radio, CD and off. Not only is it small, it's a strange ship which makes it hard to grip, and it's stiff to turn. The volume ... Read More:

I bought this a little sceptical about Bush products. In my experience, (& Without Prejudice) Plasticky and Poorly Made. BUT NOT THIS ONE. A stylish modern item with retro features, reminding me of the great classic radios of yesteryear like Roberts. Yes, there are Retro Roberts DAB radios. The faux brown leather looks like real leather (the only way you can really tell it isn't leather is to smell it) and the silver buttons and scrolling display are well built, clear and easy to use. I'm buying them for everyone I know for Christmas!
