1) Not very sensitive. I live near High Wycombe, not I think an area of high signal strength, but hardly out in the sticks. The unit sometimes struggles to auto-tune, and reception is somewhat hissy. It is necessary to position the radio relative to the phones (i.e. to your head) carefully to get reasonable reception. I judge it adequate for listening to speech while sitting down, marginal for music, and not acceptable for use with the radio in the pocket while moving about.
On the other hand, the phone cable can never be the ideal aerial and I am not sure that any FM "personal radio" can perform wonderfully except very close to a transmitter. I had a similar, much more expensive (Sharp) personal radio that did better, but far from perfectly. ... Read More:

This is my second radio, and there is no comparison with the one that is built into my MP3 player. I'm a great fan of radio, and this is just the ticket for my long commute to work. Its use is simple and self-explanatory, so it won't matter if you loose the instructions. You can pre-set it to 10 stations on FM and 5 stations on AM and it's got an amazing sound quality. The pre-sets work a treat and are simple to change at any time. It's relatively heavy which surprised me. It uses a single ordinary triple A battery which means no charging up over night. All plain straightforward high quality. I ordered on a Thursday evening and it arrived on Saturday morning.

Bought this to replace a broken (different) one; use it in the bathroom for those long dips in the tub. Used it a couple of times and it does the job, simple as that.

Only use the wind up function and it holds the charge longer than the old radio used to, I presume this is due to technology advancing, so I get more radio time for my exertions!

Great piece of kit, well worth the money.

Sony MZE310S Mini Disc Player Silver

My friend recently bought the Sony MzE310s minidisc player and was thoroughly pleased with it, this has I'm affraid got me into minidisc fever and I can really see the advantages. The minidisc player works smoothly from the start no problems there really are no down sides to this product except maybe the lack of an in-line remote. I whole heartedly endorse this product.

Compared with our old PURE Elan (Christmas 2005) the Elan RV40 is such a disppointment. Our first DAB radio was so easy to use; the 8 presets were not only a doddle to programme, but were a "one touch" operation to flit between, making it the ideal kitchen radio, in a busy teenager shared home. Sadly the on/off switch decided not to play any more, and after a month of leaving the radio on, and using the volume control instead, we decided to be more environmentally friendly and replace it.

The RV40 was a mistake. To change the radio station, you must now press; the preset button, followed by the + button, for as many times, as to equal the number of the preset, and then press select. At a minimum that is 3 buttons to press, if like us you like ... Read More:

SONY ERICSSON HPM-70 SILVER HEADSET

I bought this to replace my original handsfree that came with my W800i.

I listen to the radio almost all day using the handsfree, and this heavy usage combined with a few meetings with my pet rats lead to the connector getting rather battered, and the wire fraying.

This is a perfectly adequate replacement for my battered original. One slight qualification is that the headphones do seem to be of lower quality than the original - however this isn't a problem for me as I had replaced them with superior quality ones anyhow. I only use the bottom half, with the adaptor at the end. This part functions identically to the original.
