Like another reviewer I purchased this item from Avides. Delivery was pretty quick, unfortunately not all the accessories were included. No USB lead, no USB host lead and no anttena cable/carrying case. Emailed Avides and they apologised and said they would send missing items. They did, but over some period of time. Actually they were friendly to deal with and an honest mistake I can accept.

Potentially an awsome piece of kit, however mine does not record directly from a TV or Sat box like it is supposed to do. Recording direct from DVD player is not a problem. Digital Freeview aspect is fine and I have had it working in trains and cars, on the move.

Plenty of scope for keeping your music, photos too.

I tryed others but when i played the movies they did not play or the zoom was bad and had two black bars in the movie, but this media player was the answer, it has multy zoom with up/down and side bar remover with HDupgrad to the picture, it plays everything except window media files, and there easly converted. Its smallish and comes with out a HARDDRIVE and although easy too buy a 500G one it was Not easy too install, the hardest part was closing the top back too seal in the harddrive, and then you had too insalise it....which was not mentioned in the manual, and then format and then partion.....sounds complicated done it!...this is not a product you just unpack and play, but that said its worth it too have a portable harddrive that plays well allmost all ... I bought this hoping that I would be able to copy all my daughter's videos and dvds so that we could take them on holiday and keep her occupied on days when we are travelling or hanging around.

However, I am disappointed that I cannot copy bought DVDs as they are protected, despite an earlier reviewer saying that the device ignores this aspect.

The only way I seem to be able to copy these is to make a VHS copy first and then copy the VHS which is both time-consuming and also obviously not as good quality.

I have tried copying using the file transfer device via the computer but this didn't work either.

I would be grateful to hear if anyone has any suggestions.
