Firstly I too bought this relatively on a bargain, but i was disappointed instantly. Set-up and navigation is pretty easy. My primary use for this is a radio alarm clock, this i found to be be its weakest attribute. The unit does not remember the alarm position every day, therefore you have to set the alarm every day. The switches are very unreliable. To activate the menu button and set the alarm, it does not work all the time. The signal is also patchy, i would set the alarm and radio station (which i was listening to previous night) then in the morning when the alarm is due the radio has lost its signal failing to wake me up!! The volume options are just rubbish, it is stepped up or down rather than being linear, therefore option of loud, ... Read More:

Sound quality seemed pretty good, and I really like the way the controls are set out. Is quite light and portable, battery lasted not tooo badly... Only down side for me was that it could've used a little more "ooomph", more volume please Sony! Rumbling along on a bus it really doesn't quite go loud enough.
Other small niggle is the beep-beep-beep sound when you pause a CD, it becomes dead annoying if youre using a "learn French" CD that you pause every 2 minutes!!!!
