This is now the fourth one of these I have had and all 4 have sooner or later simply frozen on me. You can't even switch the damn thing off but it lapses into screen saver mode so the battery aint ever gonna run down it will just remain "shutting down" indefinately. Never buy this- also the FM radio isn't all it's cracked up to be and I found it incredibly difficult to tune any station I wanted. To end on a positive note though the sound quality was very good- but shop elsewhere.

All the functionality you could want in a nano-sized mp3 player, great sound quality _and_ the ability to upgrade the storage capacity with micro sdhc cards. All fully integrated into the internal library. You can't go wrong!

Well, I have to say I'm very disappointed in the Sansa... After my old IPod packed in, and tired of ITunes tying you in to their own MP3 format, I decided to try something different.
I wish I hadn't! The menu is fiddly to use, the software kept doubling up on songs, some songs wouldn't delete, and then eventually the whole thing packed up completely just three months of very light use; the screen has turned completely white and will not reset. Sansa support seem unable to suggest how to fix this, so I am having to return it. I will not be asking for a replacement!

I ve had my nano for 18 months now and never used it with earphones. In my cars its wired in directly to the head units (which gives full control and avoids those crap fm transmitters) and at home I use docking stations. I also use an Altec IM7 for portable use. This brilliant device has rendered CD's and multichangers obsolete. I ve not come close to filling half the memory so started ripping at higher bit rates as suggested by the audiophilles but I really have nt noticed an improvement in audio quality. No quality or reliability issues which is a shame cos i cant justify buying the gen 4 model out this summer (16gb plus bluetooth is my guess!) Buy one now.

The touch buttons arent very sensitive and the speaker is not exceptionaly loud, but loud enough for my purposes. The fact that DNSE can be sent over bluetooth headphones is a major plus, i like men something that my samsung YP-P2 is not yet capable of. The screen is not very big and watching videos on it seems pointless. You can record voice and RADIO that will save straight into your files. Something else that this features that the so called brilliant "Ipod" doesnt is that you can delete files while on your mp3 player, dont have to plug it inot your computer. The YP series is awesomem i own both the P2 and now the S5 both of which in my opinon are better than any i pod (with the exception of the i phone) on the market.
Very cheap too BUY !

I bought one of these about six months ago, and it's great. It charges through my PC no problem, dragging music files into is simple. It also charges and plays through my hifi through the USB connection. If feels good, like a small slim mobile phone, and I like the stainless steel back. I wanted to get more memory and a longer battery time, so I was really pleased when I saw the Philips SA2840 on Amazon, with 4Gb and 20 hours battery time. But it did not connect to my PC or hifi! Neither did the replacement! (see my review under that product). A bit like the review above.
Whenever I read MP3 player reviews, I'm astounded by how much focus there is on how the thing looks compared to how well it works. I've had a bunch of MP3 players over the years and this is by far the easiest to use, you can practically navigate through songs from the outside of your pocket. Syncs easily with WMP, or you can easily drag and drop songs straight to the player. Also, a massive bonus is that no software or drivers are required to install it. There are loads of great features which are also easy to use, you can download different themes which change the appearance of all the menus for example. Battery life is satisfactory as well. All in all, a first class player.
