I want to use quality earplugs with my phone but needed to reduce the size of the jack plug. This does just that and doesn't compromise the sound quality.......and it's excellent value too.
I own an 80GB i-pod classic and purchased these headphones as a replacement and on first usage i could tell that they were a bargain as the sound quality was great... but i noticed that my i-pod kept randomly pausing itself like it automatically does when you pull your headphones out...
at first it was a minor inconvenience but now it is just a massive annoyance as, if my ipod moves in my pocket it will pause now (even when on hold) and I'm just having to "put up" with the problem as there is no way to fix it

yep, these are a rip off, they should come in packs of 6 in a specific size as you know what size your ears are after you bout the headphones in the first place and they came with a pair of each size to try.
However, these are cheaper than Shure equivalents, then again Sony is not in the same price bracket as Shure either. It's really annoying paying £4 per piece of usable rubber (for my ears) yet, these headphones (phontopias) are really good for the money, I just better look after the rubbers better!

I have trust in Sennheiser headphones already for many years. With this model of earphones I thought I'll be surprised and assured with a fantastic and quality-best product. It seems like the company is more into professional headphones though and gives little attention to details when it comes to "subproducts".
CX400 are supposed to be cd/dvd/pmp earphones, but as you look at them straight away, it's this ridiculous 0.6m cable which honestly is of no use at all. Of course you get the 1m cable, without which you could not do a thing, but my question is, whom bothers longer cable in the first place? Who needs an extension cable, if you can make a 1.5m cable from the beginning. Very strange way of thinking.
The sound quality of these match my previous Sennheiser in-ear buds, with superb bass and crystal clear treble and are also very comfortable in the ears.
The microphone/button is smaller than it looks in the photo, and works exactly like the standard iPhone white headphones (answer calls, pause music, skip tracks etc)
If you wear them properly (with the longer side around the back of your neck, they don't pull out of your ears at all. I suspect the previous poster was not using them as the manufacturer intended!
All in all, these are very good headphones. Everything you would expect with the additional iPhone functionality you crave.
I got mine delivered in super quick time too, and can recommend ... Read More:
there are two models of these tri-port in ear earphones.
the new ones come with black and white stripey cables, and clothing clip, and a lanyard clip, where as the old earphones did not.
they also differ from the old version of the earphones in the following ways
- the ear buds are now very firmly attached to the headphones. the old ones used to fall of VERY easily.
- the headphone jack is much smaller. on the old one you would have a large thing protruding out of your mp3 player
- the sound quality is better. Somehow, bose have improved the sound quality from overly bass heavy, to a good balance of excellent bass, and very good mid-treble.
if it's earphones you want, and not headphones, you ... Read More:
The sound quality on this headset is better and the microphone is more adjustable and powerful. Howeever, this extra power means that it consumes more of your controllers battery life, so be prepared to charge more if you get this!

ok to explane where i am in relation to the in ear monitor world, i have owned 3 pairs of etimotic resurch ER6i's then i got these, then i got some ultimate ears metro.fi 100's and i have just orderd some Westone UM1's the only headphones out of that list (exculding the Westones which havent even arived yet) which havent broken are these. i dont try and kill the things they just tend to break, i think when durability is concearned you need an L shaped jack rather than a straight up one.. these have that and a very beafy one!
working up from the gold plated heavy duty jack leeds on to quite a thick wire
this then leeds on to another beafy Y shaped link to split the wire, the two wires are then held together by a transparent plastic cover..thing ... Read More:

I'm a DJ and personally don't go for the fancy expensive can's that big names throw out. I previously owned the V200 which had started to get a bit crackly on the Hi-Hat's and bass, so I wanted an upgrade and went for these seeming as they're next in line.
Truth be hold in my eyes (or ears, should I say...) their is very little difference between these and even the V200 or V500 (both of which cost more or less!). The build quality is the same; OK but over time becomes creaky and fragile. The sound quality is very much similar, perhaps a little more bass performance in these than the V200. Apart from it's nice silver finish, little more can be said, except Sony could be charging you an extra tenner for the delight of a screw-on Long Headphone Jack ... Read More:
