My son in Australia has one, and told me that this really is a "magic box" - since we have very poor radio reception I followed his good example, and was able to listen to BBC Radio 4 (and 18,000 other programmes) within a few minutes of opening the box. Once I realised that the screen displays numbers and characters and messages that are relevant to the chosen task, the rest was (and is) easy - even for this old pensioner. Mono sound (of course) is good - an excellent product - recommended...

I've owned this for around 1 month now and am pretty pleased with it. I chose it because it has Long Wave (as well as MW and FM), and this is fairly unusual these days. The sound quality is fairly good given the size of the unit, and the build quality is good as well - it looks good on your bedside table. Reception is generally without problems (the power lead works as the FM aerial) and with 10 FM presets (and others on FM and LW) you have a good choice of stations to listen to. Manual tuning is easily accessible as well. In fact, all the frequently used controls are simple to use (I like the large snooze button on the top) and the less frequently used ones are almost as easy.
