I purchaed this item from popcorn. The illustration is of the older model. The one I got was the latest model and does all I expect. It is great on homemade discs and on MP3 formated discs. It has played the difficult discs other CD players can't read.

The pluses - great amplifier power (certainly enough for any bedroom etc). Good FM reception. Handy iPod dock (a USB version is also available). Reasonably easy-to-operate remote control.

The minuses - terrible DAB reception. It scans and finds all the expected channels but you can't listen to half of them due to signal breakup.

The BIG minus - incredibly loud and annoying CD mechanism. We could hear the CD spinning from across the room, even outside of the room. Returned the unit because of this.

In short, don't get one - currently looking at alternatives from Denon, Onkyo, Yamaha etc.
