I normally buy Sony as I've always found them to be excellent quality, this is no exception, I bought the KDL40X3000 for our front room, and it has an exceptional picture quality no matter what the source or what you are watching, this, the KDL32V4000 might be cheaper, and not have the more advanced features of it's bigger and higher spec brother, but it delivers superb picture quality, the built in Digital receiver has succeeded where external boxes have failed and found channels I could not previously get. All inputs so far have proved that this Set copes superbly with whatever you throw at it, with the only exception being that age old problem, Football...noticeable motion blur, especially when the camera pans out, but not enough to disturb or ... I loved this device as soon as I got it out of the box. I like the way it looks, I like the headphones and I like the user interface. The sound quality is great and the battery life is impressive. It was also great value at £85 for the 16Gb version though that may be a short term special offer.

So why only four stars ?

Two reasons. First, as other reviewers have mentioned, it does not allow you to queue-up tracks to play after the current track has finished playing. This is such a glaringly obvious requirement that I'm simply baffled at how Sony could neglect to include it - don't they ever look at their competitors' products ?

Sony 4GB Pro Duo Memory Stick

The card I received arrived promptly and packaged correctly but it is faulty. About 75% of the photos are great but the rest are corrupted and I never know which ones will end up being corrupted. Many look fine in thumb nail format but when you open them up half the photo is stripes or similar. Others are totally corrupted and can't be viewed at all. I don't use my camera that often so didn't notice the problem until after our family holiday and of course it is now too late to get a refund/ replacement so an all round disaster!!!!

Given that most cameras produce pictures with a ratio of 2:3, why does this product use a 5:3 ratio (800 x 480 pixels). Unless you carefully crop your pictures, the top and bottom will be chopped off - not very friendly!

i bought this player last week,
easy set up and installation,so far i've only got spiderman 3 on blu ray,very quick start up after inserting disc,also very quiet operation of the player
skipped to the scene where spiderman is sitting on top of the church spire,was amazed at the quality of the picture with dark cloudy skies,grey church spire,black spiderman suit & rain,every drop of rain was seen and the detail on the black spiderman suit was amazing
i then tried lord of the rings extended edition dvd & was stunned at the level of upscaling
my tv is a samsung 50" plasma which goes uo to 1080i & the picture is fantastic wether blu ray or dvd
a great purchase at an excellent price

What I like about the camera is:
- it's very compact and easy to carry about
- the metallic finish makes it feel solid and durable
- the image quality is not bad, probably what would be expected from any typical 8MP
- the camera menu is fairly easy to use, less confusing than other cameras I have used in the past

The only thing I find that isn't ideal is the LCD screen which is not the brightest around so it is a bit difficult using it in bright (sunny) conditions. This is probably deliberate from Sony to improve the battery life which is satisfactory (so far).

Overall, it's certainly good value considering the price and features that go along with it. Highly recommended.

Not a bad camera, but I think Sony could have done better...

The stills are pretty good, they do have some graininess indoors, even at a fairly low ISO (200) and you have to go down to ISO 100 with flash or really good light if you want noise-free pics.

Also, the SL option on the flash gives quite poor pictures indoors with subjects closer to the camera really blurred even with face recognition turned off (whereas my old Cyber-Shot P200 actually gave better indoor stills with this option enabled, good detail, good focus) so you need to use normal or red-eye reduction flash. You can change the flash intensity when using the "P" mode for shooting and also the auto focus options (change to multi rather than spot or center) to get sharper focus on subjects in the ... Paid £70 a couple of months ago from Amazon. Good value camera for the money, takes excellent pics and video but can only use standard batts which don't last that long.Say 20 to 50 pics depending. Can't use rechargeables.
Pity as brilliant otherwise.
