Small, quiet and really portable drive. Average speed 25 MB/s is not impressive comparing to 7200rpm 3.5 models but this drive is designed for easy access and mobility- not for speed! 5 years limited warranty included. 2 USB ports required!

Do not buy.
True, the features people are raving about are there -it's quite quick and it is quiet but this unit completely packed up within 2 months.
Customer service terrible.
Return to Seagate at your own cost (plus insurance) is standard as is replacement with a factory re-conditioned drive.
No thanks, I'll buy another one and I'll get something better than this.

So here goes ,
1. Amazon delivered this item 2 days earlier than stated!
The cheek of them free delivery and fast too!
Delivered by Royal Mail no problems there either.
2. I have had a Seagate Freeagent Desktop 500gb since September without problems(touch wood) and due to this decided to go Seagate again with the 5 year warranty as insurance.
The transfer rates are much quicker, the drive took minutes to set up on my PC.
I am currently copying 200gb of video onto the drive with an estimated time of 2hours 35minutes.
This drive is much faster and better looking than the 500gb so I hope it performs as well!
I ordered this drive for a media centre I'm building with my Mac Mini. I decided to buy a drive seperately to the enclosure Allcam USB2 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure USB 2.0 External Case w/ OneTouck Backup so I could add a fan, making it actively cooled. I've read a few reviews about cheaper all in one drives (e.g. Lacie) that can fry themselves after a while, so thought it best to guard against that.
The drive itself is well over-specced for my requirements I have to say. There's a jumper on it to change from SATA1 to SATA2, to give increased speed, although I'm running it through a USB2 enclosure, so I'm effectively capped at 480Mb-s anyhow. I've left it at the SATA1 setting.
On the Mac I formatted with a journal ... Read More:

Seagate's budget hard drive, this 120gb version, is excellent value for money.
I use mine perfectly fine for storing my intunes music and video folder, and this has no trouble with that, and runs perfectly fine on windows XP.
It's looks might not be for everyone, but it's a hard drive for crying out loud, if it allows you to store the data you require then do it's looks really matter??
It should be said however, that this drive gets its power not from the mains, but from two USB ports.
That means if our PC is a little slack on these then you may want to check out an alternate mains operated device, but most modern PC's have at least 3 USB ports these days.
All in all, an excellent quality device, Seagate are a very reliable ... Read More:

I can confirm that Rory's comments are valid but Seagate Tech Support has disappointed me. The drive comes with pre installed back up software that won't work with Win 2K even though it says on the box that Win 2K is one of the requirements. The software only works with XP and Vista.
Seagates response to my query for compatible software was:
'When you purchased this drive it did not come with software I suspect it would have been downloaded as an add on.' and rubbing salt in the wound they say: 'the add on software will not work and we never said it would because it wasn't included in that box.'
I've always bought Seagates because of their long warranty but with this level of denial on their preinstalled software, I wonder ... Read More:
