I bought this last year and had to exchange it instantly because the volume control went nuts!! A month later the new one started the same thing unable to turn down from LOUD!!
Apart from that lovely sound and easy to use etc! I'm off to the shop to try again!!

Pure Chronos DAB Alarm Clock Radio - Silver

There's a lot about this product that shines: there are four alarm settings with a handy weekday / weekend feature; great sound and easy to operate. A number of reviewers have mentioned the bright display and it's for this reason that I stop off to write this review en route to buying a replacement alarm clock on Amazon. Too bright, it's like sleeping beside an open fridge door (we've all been there). I suspect there are better buys out there. Close but no cigar.

Pure XT-1 Add-on Speaker for Evoke-1XT - Cherry

I have just received my add on speaker and it has made an amazing difference to the sound, I would recommend that it is an essential item to accompany the radio. I loved the radio, but a little disappointed with the sound, but this really does make it sooo much better. Would have preferred not to have spent the extra money, but it is definitely worth it.

I've had one of these for a while now and bought it after a demo in good audio store. It is capable of handling all music with some ability and can really rock when turned up! The basic tone is nearly neutral and benefits from a little treble and bass lift. It suits voice and acoustic material well - Rock and Jazz do well with a little bass lift. DAB reception is good. I can get all the major stations loud and clear. There are loads of station presets available on the excellent remote control. It has an input for your MP3 / iPod and a headphone socket. I bought it specifically as a kitchen system and its very narrow front-to-back footprint (about 6") means it takes-up little room against the wall. And it can be used as an 'alarm-clock' set to ... Pure Evoke 3 - DAB & FM Radio

No doubt about it this is the best DAB radio currently on the market ,alough at this price I recommend pricing around elsewere as I have recently purchased one at £150 mark.There currently only is one model of the Evoke 3 produced by Pure , so from this prospective you will always be comparing like for like... I'd agree with many of the other reviews - it looks great, sounds great, very easy to set uo and use, and the SD card is a great way of resording those rasio programmes that you cant get to download as a podcast. Those of you who are a bit unknown in the ways of transfering MP2 (which the unit records in) to MP3 this can be done in iTunes - use "import", but then you have to convert the file. Perhaps there is a better way of doing it, but it works for me. The revue facility is very clever, but as I end up recording the programmes I am going to miss rather than listen live, not much use to me.

Remote control is easy to use. Managed to get a grip on how to use even without the manual.

Pure Evoke-1XT - DAB Digital Radio - Cherry

If you want a radio with an option to use a rechargeable battery pack then you need to but the Pure Evoke 1S not the 1XT as listed below.
I have just purchased the 1S with the battery pack and and it is amazing. I would highly recommend that the ability to take it where you want is well worth the extra cost.
