I walk the dog a lot and take my radio everywhere with me. For a portable device it feels heavy! Functionality of the controls is fine and easy to use, even when wearing gloves. Perceived quality is reasonable and it is quite rugged, having already survived numerous drops (due to catching the ridiculously long headphones lead needed - see comments below). The reception when compared to FM in my area is poor (unlike my previous Philips DAB that died!) I found that the only solution to the reception problems was to spend another £30 spent on a set of decent Sony headphones (to replace the poor standard offerings) and a 1-metre extension lead to improve the signal reception. Pure Evoke-1 DAB Radio

Bought my first Pure radio, reconditioned, for £40 to put in our holiday cottage. Never made it to the cottage!

I fell in love with it as soon as I opened the packaging and started listening. Very easy to use, very impressive sound.

Have today ordered two more - one for my Mother and another one for the holiday cottage.

Pure Evoke 1XT DAB Digital Radio - Maple

I've owned my Evoke 1XT for nearly three years, and it has pride of place in my bedroom. While it doesn't offer the range of recroding/rewinding features that many DABs now offer, it compensates in its sound and its simplicity. If you are considering buying one, I'd highly recommend getting the XT-1 auxillary speaker - I have the Evoke on one side of my computer, the XT-1 on the other, and suddenly work becomes bearable. The lack of upgrades from Pure suggests that they got this one right first time.

Pure TEMPUS-1XT , DAB Radio with Clock / Alarm , Cherry

We've had various Japanese and Roberts DAB radios that had very patchy reception, but having had excellent reception with a 'PURE ONE' radio - possibly because it has an extendable antennae type of aerial rather than a length of wire, we opted for the Tempus 1XT this time.

We're really pleased with it. It's very simple to use, love the 'touch' handle for checking the time during the night and putting it on snooze, plus there's excellent reception even when I'm using a wireless laptop beside it.

Got the DMX-25 for the kitchen and it's an excellent little unit. I can't really fault it at all.

(Also got the it's big brother the DMX-60 for the living room and that's excellent too)

PURE SONUS-1XT DAB Digital Radio with Voice Feedback Technology

This radio is brilliant. Not just great, it's brilliant. It's absolutely idiot-proof (plug it in and it does everything on its own) and for very short-sighted people like me, the fact that it talks is an absolute godsend. No more squinting at a digital clock in the middle of the night, or scrabbling around for my glasses to know the time - just touch the handle and the lovely lady tells you. Sound quality is exceptional and I have found lots of stations I would never have listened to otherwise. Brilliant!
