All right. Let's clarify. No, this won't work with your iPhone (any G). With your non-iPhone iPod all you need is a supercheap male-to-male line to get the same result from your Pure radio. So why are you buying this? Only if you want the remote control (what? you don't invariably lose them within minutes?)

Unless you want hi-fi quality sound, it's hard to see how anyone could do better than this simple easy to use DAB radio. It looks good, works straight out of the box and sounds perfectly OK especially at lower 'background' voulmes.

I bought the Tempus 1XT as a bedside radio alarm clock. It was a replacement for a cheap plastic FM clock thats been waking me up for years. I eventually got fed up of the difficulties with FM radio (tuning/interference/quality) when there are better alternatives. I use my clock every morning without fail, and so while the Tempus is quite expensive, I feel that the amount I use it justified me spending an extra few pounds on a nice model.
The other model I considered was the Pure Bug Too, which has similar features and a few more besides, but I decided that it looked ridiculous and wouldn't sound as good. I think I made the right decision. I can't verify the sound quality of the Bug of course, but I'd be surprised if its as good as ... Read More:
I have owned this radio for almost six months and am very pleased with it. The 'Marshall' limited edition of the Evoke 1XT has a lovely finish and feels both durable and of high quality.
PLUS POINTS:
The sound quality from the mono speaker is very good, lush, layered and warm.
You can crank it up pretty loud (all the way to 11 in fact, a doff of the cap to Spinal Tap) whilst still retaining the sound quality.
It's very easy to set up, push the autotune button and search for the available stations. Once done, scroll through and save your favourites on the five presets numbered 2-6 - preset number 1 is tuned to 'Planet Rock' and cannot be changed.
The screen is very clear, illuminated red lettering ... Read More:

I bought a Goodmans DAB radio but the thing never worked properly - popping and chuffing all the time because it just couldn't pick up enough signal. Ordered a Pure Evoke 2 and have now thrown Goodmans away. The Evoke 2 is great. Super clean signal and superb sound for such a small box. Nice clear layout and high quality buttons and knobs. I like the extra sockets on the back - though I have not plugged an extra speaker in yet. I have not experienced any of the problems reported by others. Am I lucky or have Pure sorted the bugs out? I have a Pure Chronos too, which is also excellent, and the reason I bought the Evoke 2. I think Pure equipment is well designed and built.

I purchased the Bug about two years ago. My inital reason for buying it was because I wanted to record radio programmes whilst I was working. The then-recent v1.3beta EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)upgrade was also a major selling point. I would recommend getting the Bug, in part because it can be upgraded to become a 'Bug Too' (but with a far superior colour to its younger sibling), and because it is pretty much all you could ever hope for in a small radio. It looks cute too. My only concern was that its USB upgrade facility wasn't compatible with my computer (until a recent upgrade), and so had to upgrade via friends' computers.
I purchased my DAB1000 2.5 years ago, and have found if to be an excellent radio. It looks and feels very high quality, and gives great sound. My only problems with it are; the supplied headphones were fairly poor, there is occasional signal loss in built-up areas, it uses 3 AA batteries (which can be a little annoying if you buy them in packs of 4 or 8)and, unlike most of their products, it cannot be upgraded from Pure's website. The DAB2000 offers many more features, and the DAB1500 has better battery life and features FM, however, for the money, this is still a great purchase.
