Great bit of kit, we have two of these in our house. Perfect clarity and ridiculously easy to use. Very easy on the eye, great speakers, I'd recommend this to everyone.

This radio looks and sounds great. But the clock, self-setting digitally, is NOT UP TO SCRATCH! Three minutes behind most of the time. A common or garden cuckoo clock can do better! I bought this item for radio alarm, so disappointing. Also, the sleep mode began to malfunction after a couple of weeks - diagnosed as "Hardware issue". Had to return radio to Pure for a replacement. Pure's Customer Service leaves a lot to be desired.

I have had this radio in daily use for ten months now, and really, for the price I would say it is superb! I cannot understand those who say the sound quality is below par - I think the sound quality is one of its best attributes - two of my workmates have bought a Pure One after hearing mine - even at high volume its unbelievable considering it has one 3" speaker - (If you use headphones you get full stereo too). It was recently dropped from a table on to a hard floor, and is still perfect - very impressive. It has to be said that it does look a little 'plasticky', but the design is quirky and neat. I read all the reviews before deciding on this DAB radio for my husband's birthday. Because we live in a reception blackspot which affects mobile phones and TV reception, I was half expecting it not to be able to pick anything up but my husband has been enthusing about the sound quality and number of channels he can receive. Availability of a rechargeable battery pack, which I also bought, was the deciding factor for me as other reviews suggest this type of radio eats batteries so it seemed like a worthwhile investment. However, Hubby is happy with using it on mains power until I get round to reading the instruction booklet. He managed without but tells me there is a clock and presets for me to set up too.

I gave had mine for a few months and gave up with it. The low whining noise means it's hard to hear spoken word programmes without turning the volume up loud - not good when you want to drift off to sleep. The alarm is incredibly complicated and set it takes ages - and I needed the manual. In the end, I gave up trying to change the settings to on/ off and accepted I would be woken every week day at 6.30 - even if I wasn't going to work. I then tried the CD version - thinking it might be the IPOD connection causing the noise - but that's even worse! The cd rattles and whirrs as it spins - so again you have to turn it up loud ..... Sadly I'm going to send this product back for three reasons.

1) Reception very poor - despite being in what the BBC website says is a good DAB reception area (walton-on-thames). It is also highly variable - sometimes it's fine when i'm stood in the room - but suddenly gets weak when I lie on the bed.

2) Display far too bright - even on the dim setting - I have to place a book in front of it at night - shouldn't really have to do this with a £50+ product.

3) - and this is the clincher - there's no way to easily cancel the alarm if you wake up before it goes off. I often have 5am starts for work - if I wake up before the alarm it's much better for my partner if I can quickly cancel it before it wakes her up as well - instead I have to go through ... Pure Digital EVOKE1XT MARSHALL DAB Radio Black

This is my 1st DAB radio purchase, being a "metal head", the moment I saw the marshall logo (and the pos reviews here), I knew this was the one. The sound is great, it almost has that "Marshall tone" (guitarists will know what i am talking about) the sound is nice and thick, not "tinny" like some small speaker units. It will go really loud (like, 11 loud), so if you work in a small office or in a mechanics garage it will cover it all.
Its mega easy to set up, the instructions were frighteningly short, but this is due to everything being setup for you already, so the manual is really there if you wish to change display settings etc. Solid build quality, great sound, worth every penny.

This is a great radio, and has almost taken over from television, which can be nothing but a good thing, and transcends the world of radio.Two minor faults; If a dvd player/tv, or electrical appliance is on nearby, the sound is terrible, and it has very poor sound body level with classical music, particularly complex multi-voiced or instrumental,which you have to listen to next to your nose for true fidelity,which can be tiring on the arms, unless you have a special bedside platform built, which will be worthwhile for the classical music sound is superb like this, if not at a distance like the bedside table, and in all other respects it is a tremendous superman radio,superman because I have a very low boredom threshold, especially for 90% of T.V, and am now no longer bored or mentally ... Archos 605 Wi-Fi Portable MP3 / Video Player 80GB

I've had this piece of kit for 6 months now and must accept that this gadget is addictive to say least! be in mobile entertainment or home-theatre entertainment (use the dock with my projector) it fits in very well, unmatched in quality and features. The display is 'crystal' and the projected images are sufficiently sharp upto 2m diagonal.
There are a few shortcomings however, esp the bulk of the hard drive and the usability as the interface isn't really finger friendly. I'd wish that it had the fluidity of the iPOD touch but having owned an AV, a Gen 4 and now a 5 , I have to admit that Archos are making a good effort in making their PVPs more usable.
