PURE Chronos CD DAB/FM/CD/MP3 Stereo Clock Radio (white)

I was looking to replace the mess of wires that was the hi-fi unit in our kitchen; this unit comprised a CD player, cassette player and radio. With some Heath Robinson DAB contraption using an extra plug point and further gadgetry to allow mp3 players to play!

I was desperate to find something compact, which ran off ONE plug and which would have an auxiliary access point for an mp3 player cable (we have three different mp3 players in our house - none of them iPod). Incorporated DAB radio was also high on my wish list - if the thing looked half-way decent I would also be happy. The cassette player was not an issue :)

Pure ONE Mini DAB/FM Radio - Black

This is a fantastic little radio that really packs a punch!

It's simple to use and the Aux-input lets me use it as a speaker for my iPod too.

I bought this DAB radio over 2 years ago on the strength of a favourable review in Which? magazine. I got it to use in work where the reception on traditional FM radios was notoriously poor, but this DAB radio picks up far more stations than I ever listen to, and the results were so impressive that two of my colleagues went straight out and bought the same radio. All three of them are still going strong despite some rough treatment and constant daily use.
The radio provides a good clear sound with plenty of volume for a small unit. It's easy to use with all of the controls handily placed in the same area at the front of the radio rather than spread across the sides and top. Pure VL-60924 ChargePAK E1

This battery is compatible with the Pure Evoke 1S radio , it is expensive but lasts for a long time ( I had it for 2 weeks and so far no need to re charge ).

You might need to order from the pure evoke company directly as it seems to be a shortage at present.

It is fiddly to fit in but there is no need to remove the battery to charge it , just plug the radio the power supply and will recharge quickly.

I wish the radio had one of these fitted to reduce the price a bit.

PURE Move, Portable Rechargeable palm-sized DAB/FM Radio

I have tried this radio in Redcar,Middlesbrough,Stockton and Durham City. Reception is patchy and disappointing on both DAB and FM. It's a pity because the overall design is good and the rechargeable battery is excellent. Alot of reviewers have given it five stars,they must be in good reception areas. Check your reception area before you buy. I have a Pure Evoke 1xt which works fine so I thought the Move would be ok but it is nowhere near.

Pure EVOKE-2XT, Luxury DAB/FM Portable Radio with Alarm - Maple

I ordered this for my girlfriend who wanted her first DAB radio and have not been dissapointed. The sound is clear with nice bass, it picks up the channels easily even without the aerial fully extended. Changing the channels is a doddle, while listening to one radi ostation you can scroll through a list underneath and simply push the tunning knob in to change to that channel. The box also comes with an auxiliary audio in the MP3 players although I haven't used this feature and handily includes an optical audio out for plugging into your existing AV amp if you have that facility. The main advantage of this is portability and for that you need to purchase the chargepak, a little pricey at £27 but without it the use of radio is limited as you can't move ... Read More:

Pros
(1). Excellent Radio in DAB and FM mode. Very receptive in my weak signal area.
(2). Sound reproduction very good for small loudspeaker.
(3). Easy to set up.
(4). Style and size make it convenient for small bedside table.
(5). Alarm programs very useful. (6.00 am weekdays, 7.00 am Weekends!).
(6). Useful listed features such as usb upgrades, low power use etc..

Cons
Visibility at night is poor and effect of light sensor control of brightness cannot be over-ridden. However, that may be my poor eyesight!

Generally, a quality radio. Recommended.

PURE EVOKE-1S (cherry) Luxury portable DAB digital & FM radio

This radio is really good, I love it and agree with all of the other reviews, but... I would recommend also buying the add on speaker. Was slightly disappointed with the sound, but the additional speaker I think its amazing.
