This battery is compatible with the Pure Evoke 1S radio , it is expensive but lasts for a long time ( I had it for 2 weeks and so far no need to re charge ).
You might need to order from the pure evoke company directly as it seems to be a shortage at present.
It is fiddly to fit in but there is no need to remove the battery to charge it , just plug the radio the power supply and will recharge quickly.
I wish the radio had one of these fitted to reduce the price a bit.

I ordered this for my girlfriend who wanted her first DAB radio and have not been dissapointed. The sound is clear with nice bass, it picks up the channels easily even without the aerial fully extended. Changing the channels is a doddle, while listening to one radi ostation you can scroll through a list underneath and simply push the tunning knob in to change to that channel. The box also comes with an auxiliary audio in the MP3 players although I haven't used this feature and handily includes an optical audio out for plugging into your existing AV amp if you have that facility. The main advantage of this is portability and for that you need to purchase the chargepak, a little pricey at £27 but without it the use of radio is limited as you ... Read More:

I've had one of these for a few years and I love it. But I measured its power consumption recently and was a bit shocked (if you'll excuse the pun): It draws 6.5W, whether the radio is on or not. Since we use it as a bedside alarm clock radio it's 'on' all day everyday, so that must really add up.

Had it a month now and am really happy with it. I downloaded the upgrade that adds the electronic program guide to the DAB radio and really can't think of a better system for the money I paid.
It would have been nice to be able to record and play music to/from the USB slot but that's the only thing I can think to criticise it about. Highly reccommended.

I bought one of these as a 74th birthday present for my mum. She loves it. It is simple to use (as it only has 5 presets - no shift button) and the sound quality is excellent. If ever there was a product aimed at someone who doesn't want lots of bells and whistles (and there's a lot of them about), this is it.

Unless you want hi-fi quality sound, it's hard to see how anyone could do better than this simple easy to use DAB radio. It looks good, works straight out of the box and sounds perfectly OK especially at lower 'background' voulmes.

I bought a Goodmans DAB radio but the thing never worked properly - popping and chuffing all the time because it just couldn't pick up enough signal. Ordered a Pure Evoke 2 and have now thrown Goodmans away. The Evoke 2 is great. Super clean signal and superb sound for such a small box. Nice clear layout and high quality buttons and knobs. I like the extra sockets on the back - though I have not plugged an extra speaker in yet. I have not experienced any of the problems reported by others. Am I lucky or have Pure sorted the bugs out? I have a Pure Chronos too, which is also excellent, and the reason I bought the Evoke 2. I think Pure equipment is well designed and built.

I purchased the Bug about two years ago. My inital reason for buying it was because I wanted to record radio programmes whilst I was working. The then-recent v1.3beta EPG (Electronic Programme Guide)upgrade was also a major selling point. I would recommend getting the Bug, in part because it can be upgraded to become a 'Bug Too' (but with a far superior colour to its younger sibling), and because it is pretty much all you could ever hope for in a small radio. It looks cute too. My only concern was that its USB upgrade facility wasn't compatible with my computer (until a recent upgrade), and so had to upgrade via friends' computers.

I walk the dog a lot and take my radio everywhere with me. For a portable device it feels heavy! Functionality of the controls is fine and easy to use, even when wearing gloves. Perceived quality is reasonable and it is quite rugged, having already survived numerous drops (due to catching the ridiculously long headphones lead needed - see comments below). The reception when compared to FM in my area is poor (unlike my previous Philips DAB that died!) I found that the only solution to the reception problems was to spend another £30 spent on a set of decent Sony headphones (to replace the poor standard offerings) and a 1-metre extension lead to improve the signal reception. Whilst it works, I keep catching the lead on everything because it is ... Read More:
