I upgraded my original cassette/radio for one of these, and I'm not disappointed. I specifically wanted a volume dial to turn, which is fairly positive, though could be a bit heavier... Its nice to look at too, bright blue light around the volume and red illumination for the other buttons.
It has a random function, which is handy for my mp3 cds, though one complaint I do have is that the Previous and Next (<< + >>) buttons, do not do random, they move to the next song number. I feel this could easily be improved. Clear sound, with no cd skipping so far for me, and I have been down some fairly rough tracks.
Its the quality you expect from Pioneer, in a stylish, subtle package. I don't like over the top chrome and LEDs ... Read More:

Despite being advertised as not working with any ipods post sept '07, it works fine with my 2nd gen touch...which I was relieved about.
The controls are somewhat fiddly as there are too many functions assigned to too few buttons, making the onscreen ipod control hardly worth it as it takes ages to scroll through even only a couple of gigs of artists - so best to use the ipod itself to choose your track. It's also a bit messy on the lcd display, not as clean and concise looking as my last pioneer. But niggles aside, it sounds great and has enough inputs and outputs to keep me happy. Overall, a good product at a reasonable price i'd say.

I was really pleased when it arrived and I worked great for the first 5 months. It was carefully used and wired up properly and broke last week. Amazon do not accept returns after 1 month and the Pioneer returns department is abysmal so despite it being under warranty I cannot return it. I wouldn't bother buying this product!

Until now, I have used a carousel style multi CD changer. I liked my previous model, a Technics, very much but the time had come to replace it and a previous buyer's review made me opt for this type instead.
It is smaller in depth than the carousel models and therefore would fit better into most racks or cabinets. It is easy to set up. I used my existing leads to save unplugging them from the amplifier. The unit has a fixed power cable. Leads, remote, batteries for remote are all supplied.
I would recommend buying an additional cartridge. Loading discs into a cartridge takes longer than dropping them into a carousel and it is nice to have programme 2 ready for when program 1 has finished. One thing to be aware of: discs need ... Read More:

This is the first head unit that I have purchased, and I got it for my first car (A T-Reg Corsa).
Firstly however, it was pretty easy to install - The only problem I had was getting the frame which is used to hold the unit when it is installed off the unit. (It is attached around it when it comes in the box). I got it off with a screwdriver, but realised afterwards that it can be done easily with tools which are supplied specifically for this job. Doh!
As I said, I have had no prior experience with installing these, but was happy to find that my Corsa had just one plug which went straight into the back of the unit; and one arial. I did have to purchase an adapter for the arial, but you can get these from any electronics or motoring ... Read More:

Bought this DVD-RW to replace a new HP1040i which was quite frankly slow and noisy and vibrated like an overloaded washing machine. Found out it was made by LiteOn, so out it came. In went the new Pioneer, and hey, bliss!. Quiet, quick and vibration free. No problems writing to media, slide drawer seems to built robustly, and to date, no issues. Installed latest firmware from Pioneer which enabled more media burn capabilities. This model was cheaper than the HP (LiteOn) 1040i which was meant to be all singing and all dancing. Downside?. Wish I got the more expensive model from Pioneer!.

Another great Pioneer product. If you want a good quality car cd player at a good price, buy this product. It sounds great, is easy to use and can even read mp3 cds. Recommended.
