Pure Highway In-Car DAB Radio With FM Transmitter - Black

I installed mine yesterday, and positioned the arial where shown on the instructions. I then removed the trim and ran the cable out of sight before tucking it neatly behind my dashboard along to the unit. Would it pick up any DAB stations? Nope. I then tried it trailing the arial cable in a sort of 'zig zag mess' across my dash, and it picked up 52 stations in no time at all. Great I thought; I can live with a messy cable right across my dash - just about. I then decided to drive off, thinking all was well at last - wrong. Whilst in motion, the signal cuts out and is, quite frankly, worse than dear old medium wave. My Tom Tom seems to interfere with it, as does my iPod dock - not to mention my rear window demister! Pure PocketDAB 1500 Personal Rechargeable DAB/FM Digital Radio

I bought this portable dab radio for use whilst walking and cycling, ie for outside pursuits.So I can only vouch for the performance of this device as my main use was as above. The clarity and reception of dab radio is superb with no crackling or hiss from normal FM radio, how ever this radio does not like concrete ie subways and the like. Indoors can be a problem as there can be a problem with reception as the ear phone is the aerial , this wasn`t a dissapointment as this radio is portable and in my eyes designed for out door use which suits my needs perfectly. In short I can`t understand all the negative reviews in relation to reception etc I live in London so reception is not a problem. I would recommend this device to any one using it for outdoor ... Pure VL-60923 ChargePAK C6L

I have owned the previous version (C6X) of the chargepak for around 2 years. Currently it gives around 15 minutes of play before it dies. When I called Pure's customer helpline, I explained that the product was out of warranty and that I appreciated that I would not be refunded. However, the lady who answered was quite defensive and explained that, as the product has a one year guarantee, Pure expect it to last only around 12 months. If this is so, then £30 seems a lot to pay for occasional use away from the mains in one year.

My experience of rechargeable batteries is generally far better - mobile phones, digital cameras and multi-purpose rechargeable batteries. I feel that there must be something wrong with the chargepak if Pure have such low expectations ... Read More:

PURE Chronos iDock, DAB Digital and FM clock radio with iPod Dock (black)

We have this for nearly 12 months and have had no problems the alarm is great there are 4 of them great for if you work different shifts, if I have one gripe it is the remote which is great for basic functions but a pain when you want to select a preset, it is great as a bedside radio the sound quality is OK and the bass is a bit thin but what do you expect from a little unit that looks cool in black next to your bed and the iTouch looks cool except for the white docking cradle that you have to use.

To cancel the alarm before it goes off you will need to go press alarm and then press select and press + to change to off. This is the only way the alarm can be stopped.

The information above came from Pure technical support. So, if you wake up before your alarm goes off and want to switch the alarm off (so as to not wake someone else (e.g. Wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend)), you have to press three buttons, in the dark, half asleep. And then remember to set it back later....

That is a serious design flaw... oh, and everything that's been said about the poor display is true. You can't read it.

PURE ONE VL-61085 Classic DAB Radio - Black

Great DAB radio, well designed with clear well laid out controls. Easy to use and excellent sound for a small speaker, there are treble and bass controls via the menu which help get the sound you like. I bought the black one, the build quality is excellent and the rubbery feel is different. Choice of mains and battery, or the chargepak make this an excellent value radio. Highly recommended.

PURE EVOKE-1S (maple) Luxury portable DAB digital & FM radio

I have been using this model now for seven months,and apart from only getting about fifteen channels, when I thought I would get dozens as it's digital I am still quite pleased with it.But what really made me sit down and write this review is that I had to send it back today as it started playing up which does happen, (but you do get a two year warranty).Unfortunately you have to send it back to pure at your expense which is not cheap as you need to insure it as well for peace of mind. If you buy it from amazon like I did they will only exchange it within six months after which you will have to send it back to pure. Bear that in mind if you are buying one (it's a lot easier taking it back to a local store) under pures two year warranty.

1) The sound from this product is somewhat tinny.
2) Build quality is poor - especially the plastic cd compartment lid and the skewy alignment of speaker grilles.
3) Design is poor - e.g. light from screen backlight leaks out through edges of buttons. Also, layout of button labels is absolutely not thought through - label is halfway between button above and button below so one always needs to think about which button a label applies to. Also the remote controller (no that magnetic pad does not adhere properly to the controller) doesn't allow one to change radio channel!

A tip to Pure: to avoid turning formerly loyal customers such as myself into detractors, lend the prototype to focus-group users before going into production. This product was not ready ... Read More:

PURE Evoke Flow VL-60896 DAB Radio

I recently received the second one of these from Amazon after the screen on the first one did not work at all so had to be returned for a replacement. I actually bought this as a gift for my father but wanted to be sure it was working properly after the obvious defect on the first one I was sent. Obviously PURE don't bother too much with quality checking what leaves their factory!

It was easy to set up and link to my WiFi and I was up and running listening to DAB radio and internet radio stations from around the world within minutes. As a gadget it is good fun to play with and has some really clever features. But I am still trying to understand what the point is of this radio receiving high quality DAB radio when it has such a pathetic little in-built speaker, which is ... Read More:

Pure ONE Elite DAB/FM Radio - Black

I bought this radio for 2 reasons - a DAB for the bathroom (using a chargepak), and to connect my IPOD when away from home.
As a radio the unit is great - we have a weak DAB signal and our Evoke 2 had to have an external aerial to get a decent signal, but this unit finds a strong signal all over the house.
My one niggle is that the line in feature isn't what I would consider a line in feature. If you connect an IPOD to the line in socket you can't control the volume on the radio - only through the IPOD itself. This is ok if you connect the IPOD to the radio through the headphone socket, but not if you connect through the dock connector. This means I can't use my dock. Shame this feature is not included, this would have been a 5 star product if it had not been for this one ... Read More:
