Bought to complement my WS-210S Olympus digital recorder. Seems that mixing different makes of mics and recorders can produce disappointing results!
This Olympus microphone and the Olympus WS-210S are a perfect match and work very well together.
The Olympus USA site has a better product description than any site I have seen.
It also comes with an extension lead and a tie clip so that the mic can be placed within 1m of the recorder.
This microphone requires plug-in-power, i.e. power supplied by the recorder.

This camera is the lightest and smallest camera I have owned so far. It has features I find very useful, for example the shoot and choose function is great for shooting action shots.
It will easily fit in a largish shirt's lapel pocket. It starts up quickly for those moments when you need a camera bit quick.
I have only given it 3 stars though because the picture quality is only average. It may be 8 megapixel but I think I was achieving better pictures with my Canon a70 3.2 megapixel camera 5 years back or more. There is considerable noise in most pictures. Colour leakage around things and lndscape pictures seem a little flat.
But if you want a well made, lightweight camera at a reasonable price you'd do well to consider ... Read More:

Coupled with my Olympus E420, this is the best flash I have owned since my first Olympus camera + flash in 1977. To put it simply, it will handle any need for a flash-gun that an amateur photographer will encounter. You could add more power with its sister, the FL-50, but that's a choice you will make for yourself.
Using it with an Olympus E-series is simplicity itself, and, as long as you have made the right choices, like not forgetting the red-eye reduction, it will give you the right results. The build quality is exceptionally good.
Now I've been using it, a lot, I have to concede that the FL-36 is a whole lot better than my first Olympus flash. I thought the auto-zoom function would be less efficient than the ... Read More:

I've had this digital voice recorder for over a year now and it keeps surpassing my expectations. I'm a journalist and I can't live without this any longer. The 512MB memory is more than enough to store several interviews and conferences; the sound quality is great both with the stereo mic and without it; and the battery seems to last forever - in a year of heavy use I've only needed to change the batteries twice.
Wanted to give a zero star product rating but Amazon system doesn't permit.
Never thought I'd write a review for a duff battery but seeing as I've got to buy yet another one for my Olympus C770UZ camera, I thought I ought.
Purchased the camera and spare battery (an Olympus branded Li-12B) in 2005. Yes, quite a while ago but I'm not an avid snapper - mainly holidays and days out so it's had light use.
Upon receiving the batteries, I charged them up. The one that came with the camera, a Li-10B, took charge OK but the Li-12B wouldn't. I tried it in the camera anyway and it died immediately. Retailer suggested I accept a Li-10B in exchange so I did. What a fool - I should have marked one of them because after ... Read More:

I have now had this recorder for over a year and rate it very highly. The quality of the recording and sensitivity of the in-built microphone are excellent and the recorder has proved completely reliable. The plastic body seems a little flimsy but has survived - the only problem has heen that the cover of the battery compartment has flipped off once or twice during handling, and the on/off (hold) switch is rather too easy to activate; similarly one has to be careful not to switch inadvertently
from music to voice mode or vice versa. However all is forgiven as the ease of use and the feature of easy transfer of audio files to a PC via USB socket make it a stunning little machine.

I have the same complaint as Be Carlin. You cannot transfer files from the recorder to your computer at all. It would be unfair to say that this is not mentioned at all on the product's page: it is written "PC connection: No". But this is far from a clear indication that you will not be able to transfer your files at all. Apparently only the products of Olympus with the ending PC do so. Such an important "detail", should have been made abundantly clear in the product's description. I feel deceived: with a few pounds more I could have got a much better product . Since I have opened the packet, I cannot return the product, and I am already thinking which relative or friend would be interested in a voice recorder:)
