I upgraded my old Olympus DS-150 for the DS-2 because of it's storage capacity, size and style. This little digital voice recorder is great for digitally recording voice...but that's all it will do. I got the DS-2 to allow me to dictate letters etc. But I found that it lacked the fundamental feature of being able to edit files i.e. rewind and overwrite from a certain point. This is essential for dictation and was surprised it was not a part of the DS-2.
NO to dictaion, YES if all you want to do is record.

I have owned this camera and lenses for over 6 months now. It's my first DSLR, and I am still totally blown away by the quality and versatility of this kit.
The lenses are both exceptionally high quality. When shooting architecture at the widest angle, buildings remain straight right in to the corners of the photo, and they are consistently pin sharp from corner to corner. Furthermore they are very small and lightweight, which is a real benefit: you can even carry the longer lens in your pocket, and you change lenses by holding them both in one hand at the same time.
The image stabilisation is very impressive. As it is built in to the body, it will work on any lens. When you can hand hold the camera and shoot at 1/8 second ... Read More:

If you need a case to carry your Olympus mju into the waves, don't buy this one. The cover is insecure, and the case hangs hopelessly when you paddle - it really feels as if it is going to fall off. If you've already bought one as I have, throw the case away, attach the safety cable to the arm band, and tuck the camera through the neck of your wetsuit. As a surfer and a photographer, I'm amazed at what poor design the case is. I would have rated this at 0 stars if it was possible.
