After 50+ years of enjoying cinema, films of all types..but mostly films that engage the audience and require input...I have never complained about a Director of Photography before....every episode of "Rome" that mentioned the dreaded Marco Pontecorvo as the DOP..stand by for an amateur version of "The Shield"-all hand held..in your face,up your bum-whatever..wobbly picture, jerky background, cast walking right across the foreground of the frame-absolute RUBBISH..and with a famous Director as his father!!!- a little man with a massive ego..and directors letting him get away with it?Although this element stinks the place out-everything else about "Rome" is superb.

So many comic book films are created with the studios forcing it into a lower certificate by cutting various scenes out. This was shown clearly with the Daredevil Directors Cut being so much darker than the original that it was an entirely new film!
Thankfully this movie did not suffer from that fate. Clearly the director has been given a free reign on the movie and as such he has created an authentic Iron Man, and I am pleased that Robert Downey Jr has nailed the character so well. The comedy is refreshing and the action is superb but the story is also excellent, something that every good movie needs.
Oh, and watch the scene after the credits.....interesting!

This film is a funny, clever and very entertaining piece which is really made by the high quality of the acting and the excellent musical numbers. Amy Adams makes a perfect Disney princess and is supported by a super cast, each of whom makes their character believable. It's lovely from a romantic point of view but was also enjoyed by my ten year old sons who watched it a number of times (just don't tell their friends....)Highly recommended feel good fun.

i have found series three of Doctor who to be very refreshing...although there are a few duds this year it doesn't harm the show but makes the better episodes shine.
Martha Jones exceeded my expectations,as i thought that she was going to be another Rose Tyler she turned out to be a great companion and very three dimensional although lacking Roses charismatic persona she brings something new to the table, and her character is explored with depth.
eppy reviews-
the runaway bride-4/5-a very good christmas special...Catherine Tate was a breath of fresh air and was extremely entertaining tpo watch(glad she was the main companion in series 4)the Racnoss is a great creation and reminds me of the alien queen from the Alien franchise.

So being a hardcore Ron Burgundy fan like I am, I snapped this badboy up as soon a I saw it on the shelves. Yeah its funny, (not as funny as the film), yeah its over an hour long, but its basically made out of loads of bits that wouldn't fit into the first film. Its supposed to be set AFTER Anchorman, but all the way through, you can recognise clips from the first film...the result? A hash of new material from the cutting room floor, stitched together with a bunch of old stuff.
Dont get me wrong, its still worth buying for a few more anchorman classic lines, but dont expect an entirely new film.

This last (half) series of the finest TV show ever made is actually one of its best (semi) seasons, so it makes some sense to review this masterwork from the (hopefully now spoiler-proof) end. The Sopranos finishes, indeed, as wonderfully as it began and carried on: constantly complimenting the viewer's intelligence, right up to the bitter-sweet dénouement.
Yes, the penultimate episode is the proper narrative/dramatic "end," with its stunningly-staged assassination of Baccala and the calamitous (and, typically of the show, almost hilarious) near-fatal wounding of Silvio (to the sound of Nat King Cole, the sight of naked Bing bystanders and with hideous collateral damage to a passing motorcyclist).
But the actual finale itself had to, er, not happen; in that typical Sopranos life ... Read More:
