Ofelia (Baquero) loves reading fairytales and during the 1944 Spanish war, she is asked by a faun to complete 3 tasks which will make her a princess.
Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy) uses his visionary genius to bring a dark and dramatic fairytale to life in this Oscar winning picture.
Filled with surprises, dramas and a dark twists upon fairytales, Pan's Labyrinth is both different and unique in its own genre and fills a viewer's watching requirements with stunning entertainment throughout.
The general surprise of seeing a fairytale told in such a dark and dramatic way is what makes the film so appealing. How many fairytales are realistic? How many are dark and reflect the true nature of their time? All run on the ... Read More:

Why do I pay my licence fee to the BBC so that they can make this utter dross and drivel?? Can someone actually tell me why this is apparently funny? What is there to get??
They try to be surreal, but it's all been done before (Vic and Bob anyone?? The Goodies, Monty Python etc etc) and far better.
Noel Fielding is just about to disappear up his own backside, yep, there he goes, I spotted his hand waving as he went. As for the other bloke, I don't even know why he's in it. Does he??!
Nope, this is about as funny as having an ingrowing toenail taken off with no anasthaetic. Mind you, watching this mind-numbingly boring tosh might just negate the need for it!!
Rubbish indeed from a Russell Brand-alike. Oh, and ... Read More:

National Treasure: Book of Secrets is everything a big budget adventure sequel should be. A bigger story and better action help make Book of Secrets a surprising crowd pleaser.
Setting out to clear his ancestor's name, Ben Gates is back in treasure-hunting action to unequivocally prove that his family had nothing to do with the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. With his usual cohorts Riley, Abigail and his father, Patrick Gates, the trio must race against the clock to stop a new enemy, Mitch Wilkinson, from uncovering an ancient treasure before they can, or forever risk the Gates name being associated with the death of one of America's greatest presidents. Book of Secrets is crammed packed with puzzles, car chases and exciting action sequences to help ... Read More:

"The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" is a gripping French film based on a true story about a renowned magazine editor, who after suffering a devastating stroke became paralysed, only able to communicate by blinking one of his eyes. The acting in the film is of a very high standard throughout as we watch the immobile Jean-Do face up to his life altering circumstances at first with despair but then with resignation and finally acceptance of his horrible fate. He is lucky in that he has the love of two women, his wife and mistress to keep him going , as well as his three children and several attentive speech therapists and helpers. Their support bolsters his spirits and enable him to "write" his memoirs and share his experiences of life as a victim of "locked in" syndrome with the world. The film ... Read More:

Guys/Gals... my advice is to watch/buy something else ...
If you want guaranteed boredom then fine... ok well there were a few amusing bits but not many
All i can say is thank goodness DVD players have a timer that enables you to count down towards the end of a DVD.
I love Cameron Diaz.. she gorgeous, sassy and everything else and more, but this is not a great movie. Unfunny, un-romantic (if your'e looking for a romantic film) and pretty much un everything else.

This is a remake of the 1957 film of the same name. Fortunately I saw the original last year, which is a minor classic itself. In general I don't like remakes, however this is well done and Russell Crowe again shows that when he wants to, he can be a terrific actor. Rather surprisingly I thought his performance overshadowed Christian Bale's, who is generally considered a better actor.
The story that Peter Ustinov used to tell of an actor he was working with is never more true than here. Ustinov was in the background in a shot, and the star of the movie turned to him and said "what are you doing?". Ustinov said "I'm doing nothing". The star said "Oh no your not I'M DOING NOTHING". That sort of sums of Russell Crowes performance. He doesn't do a lot, but his not doing a lot is actually ... Read More:
